On a lighter note: the Reverse Retro jerseys have some nice looking options in the mix, and I really dig the green Devils ones.
Just, uh...someone tell Detroit they could've literally tried anything else besides the look they opted for.

Detroit did NOTHING different.
The Ducks one looks a smidge cheese but I love the Ducks so I might (MIGHT) get one anyway.

So as of now it seems like the projected easternmost division in the coming COVID season will be (according to LeBrun over at The Athletic): Boston Buffalo DC New Jersey New York I New York R Philly Pitt
Then you've got the obvious Canadian division: Calgary Edmonton Montreal Ottawa Toronto Vancouver Winnigpeg
That should leave us with a Central: Carolina Chicago Columbus Detroit Florida Minnesota Nashville Tampa
And a West/Pacific: Anaheim Arizona Colorado Dallas LA Vegas San Jose St. Louis
Concept would be that teams play a 56 game schedule with a pattern closer to baseball to minimize travel, e.g. the Leafs and Habs playing a three game series across 5-6 days before moving on to their next opponents. Top four teams from each division are automatically in the playoffs, no weird Wild Card realigning to worry about.
As a Devils fan, uh...I'm jealous of that Central division because the East/Atlantic is going to be hellacious, possibly even more than the Metropolitan already was, depending on if Buffalo is legitimately improved. Still, I knew going into this season that 2021 would be all about the rebuild and letting the young guys develop and emerge more, so it is what it is; I had just been holding out a little hope that Jersey could get lucky and have a few of those youngsters all kind of click at the same time and make something special happen sooner than expected, but that'll be asking a lot for a season like this. Ah well, at bare minimum the fact they'll have any goaltending to speak of this year now that they have the Blackwood/Crawford tandem will at least guarantee them being much tougher to play against than they've been the past couple of seasons.
Big question now will be if the AHL will have a season or if the big leagues will be allowed to have expanded taxi squads and young guys on hand to practice and whatnot.

I feel like geographically it makes more sense for Washington to swap with Columbus

Henrik Lundqvist opting out of the 2021 season due to a heart condition Sad to hear....hope he can live with the heart condition. Personal health is more important in this case.

Which divisions will be paired off for conference finals East/Central and North/West? And who's competing for the Wales and who's competing for the Campbell?

The Canadian division is going to be a total bloodbath. And the East is going to be a race to the bottom between New Jersey and Buffalo. Haven't figured out the other two yet.

The defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning will be without Nikita Kucherov for the entire season as he needs hip surgery.

The defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning will be without Nikita Kucherov for the entire season as he needs hip surgery. So they sat on his injury for a couple months and the second the schedule is finalized they put him on LTIR, freeing up the money to sign Ciareli. Oh, and Kucherov will likely be back for the playoffs Nothing to see here.....

This shouldn't solve all their problems unless he doesn't play at all this season, playoffs included iirc. This should just buy them time rather than solve all their problems.

Blues signed Mike Hoffman to a professional tryout, wink wink. Which means that barring something unforseen, he will sign a 1-yr deal with St. Louis right when the season starts and we can place Steen and Tarasenko in LTIR.
