Can anyone tell me when Carlos Rodon morphed into Chris Sale? 9K's in 4 innings. Sure, the Yankee hitters strike out a ton, but still.

I mean he was a highly touted prospect, just looking like a real late bloomer after White Sox non tendered in the offseason He keeps this up he is going to get paid in the offseason

And now Peraza leaves the game. The Mets already have SIXTEEN guys on the IL.

F the Yankees and their dam base running. And BTW why didn't Green pitch the 8th? If the Yankees lose this game, I am going to be very pissed at Boone and his managing. You have a lead after 7, you don't mess around, go with your best. When is Britten coming back, can't come soon enough.

Yankees win the game off a triple play in the 9th and a walk-off single by Gleyber "tonight's entire offense" Torres.

Yankees got some good "character building wins" over the last few games You expect the offense to jump off at some point but right now they are getting tough wins which could bold well come later when you need to win these close games

Going to the Giants/Dodgers at Oracle tomorrow. It’s been a minute before I’ve been in a public gathering like that!

Watching this Yankee team this year, not going to be good for my heart, but a win is a win.

It seems that every time the White Sox play a team outside of their division they fold like a deck of cards.

Major League Baseball might have to move the mound or do something — pitchers are dominating the game like they haven’t since 1968. The last time there were more than six no-hitters in a single season was 2015. It’s May and we’ve already had six no-no’s. I'm coming around to the idea of possibly moving the mound back; I've heard the suggestion that it should be in the geometric center of the infield diamond, so maybe that'd do it. Ideally, I'd rather let the players adjust organically, but I think we're increasingly getting to a point where that might not be possible anymore: so many pitchers can toss 100 mph with little trouble, shifting is now a way of life with advanced tech behind it, pitchers are being coached to pitch hard up and in on the hands (this minimizing the batters' abilities to make adjustments or bunt or whatever), and advanced stats show that selling out contact for power is the best way to hit, so that's what the hitters are going to do, period. Players aren't suddenly going to get weaker, smaller, or less athletic, and with the full buy-in around the league for analytics this style of play likely isn't going anywhere any time soon. It'll likely take an outside impetus, like the lowering of the mound after '68, to bring about any significant changes. It's the big conundrum baseball has: people seem to prefer the aesthetics of the game when pitchers can't always throw as hard, and when batters don't hit so many homers - the former allows for greater pitch variation, longer outings, fewer calls to the bullpen, etc., and the latter allows for more plays in the field (hits, steals, hit and run, etc.) and fewer strikeouts. However, the numbers show, and have shown since before Babe Ruth, that power pitching and power hitting win. How do you get teams to do thing that are counter to winning because you're trying to enact change in the service of entertainment value? That said, I do think there's some other stuff that could be done to mitigate some of the worst of all this: for one, ban IPads during the game given how many players are watching video. Second, and there's a big article in The Athletic today about this, actually do something about the number of pitchers who are doctoring the ball. Players and teams are speaking anonymously about it, and talking about how absurd it's gotten, and it sure seems like the league isn't doing a damn thing about it, unless they're collecting balls to analyze now and then use as ammunition during CBA negotiations this winter. ...Oh, and meanwhile the Mets are somehow in first place and winning most of their games of late despite being held together by duct tape and spit. SO MANY INJURIES.

It seems that every time the White Sox play a team outside of their division they fold like a deck of cards. In fairness, they played a close game yesterday and today they facing Gerrit Cole
