I like the rule Adds excitement to the game. Might tweak the rule so the away team has a runner on 1st instead of 2nd so the home team still maintain that advantage but even then it isn't a big deal If you are going to tweek it, just change it so the rule in effect till the 12th or 13th inning. Give the teams a chance to win the game legit. But put a runner on 1st, I don't object to that. 12th or 13th is still too long They have 9 innings to win it legit. Extra innings is supposed to be OT and have some type of limit which is why I support men on base because watching teams swing for the fences until 15th or 16th inning is not fun baseball and these games have been over by the 11th inning with the rule Extra inning rules brings out urgency. Put a runner on 1st if anything but keep that rule in place. Tho not for playoffs

The fact that Chapman almost got a lose because of this rule, makes me sick.

I like the rule too, even with the runner on second. It gives more of a "sudden death" feeling to a game that a regular extra inning game doesn't have.
You feel it's unfair? Well, that's on you. Both teams have to play under it, can't be more fair than that.

True That's why I said maybe do runner on first but both teams have a chance to score and if the away team scores, you still get your chance to score at the bottom of the inning OT is supposed to be urgent which MLB is surely missing. OT is a lot more exciting in NHL with their rules and even then they got a shootout so the game don't go forever past OT. Supposedly they were going to try some type of Home Run Derby scenario in the minors I believe which I am not in favor of

No Judge today, I am not sure I like this. And do we have to have Frazer and Gardner play in the same game, that is two automatic outs.

No injury designation as far as I can see, just a rest day but yeah I am annoyed why Yankees don't get a proper bat to switch in and out so DH will be used by diff people instead of just one Stanton is actually a good fielder but Yankees forever scared he will get hurt

I just now realized Buster Posey is hitting .397
I knew he’s been really good this year, but didn’t realize it was to THAT extent.

The Yankees better win this in the next 2 innings, I don't want another extra inning game with that stupid rule.
Edit: I get my wish, the Yankees have some much needed momentum going into that hell hole (no offense, even their fans know it is a hell hole) this Tuesday.

Mets win it. Actually saw it live too. Lots of energy despite the reduced crowd.

I’m not sure what scares me most with the Cards having the best record in the NL right now...that the damn Giants are the second best team or that the Red Sox are the best in the AL. Double hit of Cards playoff kryptonite.

Double hit of Cards playoff kryptonite. Just means they'll finally redeem themselves! Or bat around .100 when they to the World Series. The latter is probably more realistic

Both teams have to play under it, can't be more fair than that. They're really not under the same circumstances: away team gets the advantage of likely plating an easy run before the home team has a chance to, completely changing the circumstances under which their respective pitchers are entering the inning (starting off the inning tied vs. starting off with a lead). Besides, +90% of extra inning games before the rule was implemented already ended before the 12th.

Why would a city want a team who never wants to keep their good players?

Why would a city want a team who never wants to keep their good players? Maybe moving to a "better" city would change that. Not sure it would happen, but that might be the thinking.

Las Vegas and Portland are the frontrunners, but I'll always be game for an MLB team in Indianapolis. If we're going to be smack-dab in the middle of territorial rights and blackout restrictions on MLB.tv, at least give us a team to root for.

Why would a city want a team who never wants to keep their good players? That's the Catch 22 You are going to get a potential new city and brand new stadium but if same ownership is still acting like they broke than it defeats the purpose. See Miami Marlins for how city of Miami got shafted

That's the Catch 22 You are going to get a potential new city and brand new stadium but if same ownership is still acting like they broke than it defeats the purpose. See Miami Marlins for how city of Miami got shafted Same with the Raiders going to Vegas. If your team suffers from "brokeass owners", then a larger market isn't necessarily going to save you. How about it be on the Major League owners to have the ability to be financially viable as a stand-alone? It would be one thing if they were spending and could point to the fanbase as not supporting, but that damn sure isn't the case. It's basically a form of corporate welfare. We need cities to foot the bill on a big, money-making stadium because we're but mere millionaire owners coming to the league with hat in hand. It's not at all in good faith, but the owners will approve bc they know the brokeass owners won't work in Oakland and they just pray they can piggyback off a bigger market.
