If the Cubs fall out of contention, the trade dealine could be really interesting. Craig Kimbrel has been back to is old, dominant self. And high leverage relievers are at a premium come July 31st and he has a year left on his contract. So he wouldn’t just be a rental. Kris Bryant has also returned to form. Presuming a contract extension isn’t happening; he’d be a good fit in the middle of any line-up. And there’s a few other attractive trade chips on the roster. Either way, I expect the team will loo way different come 2022.

McNeil and Conforto both leave the game early with Hamstring issues. Dropping like flies.

Giancarlo Stanton is on the 10 Day IL with a strain in the left quad.
You've gotta be kidding me.

Either way, I expect the team will loo way different come 2022. Bryant is going to be gone, I'm afraid. I'll be disappointed, but I understand. I think they keep Rizzo. I think Baez is 50/50. Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if they let him go. I still think he is too damn erratic for my tastes. He's improved, but he's been "ehhhh" this season so far. I'm going to be disappointed when Kimbrel gets moved because he's turned back into the damn-near lights out closer I've wanted for years just in time for him to be trade-bait. There are rumors the Yankees are intersted in Joc Pederson, so I assume there will be some interest in him if he keeps up the production. I agree with you that the Cubs are going to look a lot different next year.

What Ohtani doing right now is crazy
I still think it is best to use him purely as a hitter and so you can have the bat play everyday and lessen his risk of injury but the results are working. He's an erratic arm but he's there best arm
