Stroman accepted the Mets Qualifying offer I uh......was not expecting that Smart short term strategy Gets $19 mill for basically doing much of nothing last season in a short season. He was arguably the number 2 best pitcher on the free agent market but I think he's aiming for $100 mill plus and in this market this offseason he wasn't getting that He probably cost himself $75 mill contract but with the $19 mill guaranteed, he just has to outdo $51 mill which if he's healthy he will double that

Making the suspension time-based instead of games-based (like literally every other kind of MLB suspension, including the long-term suspensions for PED's) was such bullshit. Should've been a full 162 games' worth.

Stroman accepted the Mets Qualifying offer I uh......was not expecting that I did. He was kidding himself into thinking he was going to get a better deal, and he probably thinks he can schmooze with Cohen to give him big bucks.

With the Yankees and Mets already revealing their full affiliates, and Minnesota parting ways with Rochester in the International League, Major League Baseball is very unhappy right now with the reveals.
Yet, I think people should at least have the right to know where or if their team will be playing next season.

Apparently there's been talks of Brooklyn becoming the Mets AA affiliate while Binghamton becomes the A team. That would be very interesting as I could see attendance in Coney Island being high as people would come to see top prospects.

Kim Ng has become the General Manager of the Miami Marlins. She's the first female GM in the history of the four major American sports leagues. She's extremely qualified and I'm excited to see how does does.

So can someone help me figure out what's up with all the buzz on the Blue Jays spending?
Their ownership is notoriously cheap, how are they all of a sudden always in on every free agent all of a sudden?

"Cheap" being relative They have at times splurged but they not handing out $200 mill contracts. People think they are favorites to land Springer, JT etc because they aren't paying anyone decent money outside of Ryu You can add a free agent or two and still have a payroll around $100-$120 mill. Considering those guys are 30 and up as well, you're looking at 4 year deals and by the time their deals up you're on the hook to pay players like Vlad Jr and Biggio

To be honest I was having a bad day, one of those where you give up on yourself and just sorta question why things matter.
Then I remembered the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions and felt a little bit better.

Theo Epstein is stepping down a Cubs President of Baseball Operations. Cubs GM Jed Hoyer will now take that position. No word on who becomes the new GM.
I had a feeling this was coming. It just feels like there’s going to be a lot of turnover, the next couple of years. And Theo’s contract expires after next season. I’d. Still it was a mutual agreement, with ownership, to get a head start on what wa almost certainly going to happen next year.
Whatever the case, he did exactly what he was brought in to do, win the World Series. And I think all Cubs fans are forever grateful for that.

Theo really has talked openly about moving on so this was really no secret or surprise He was prepping for his successor and now he basically has an open MLB world to scout as his next destination

Theo helped bring World Series titles and winning cultures to two franchises that hadn't won in generations. He'll go down as one of the most successful GM's, well, ever.

Yea, he doesn't even have to work for another franchise, he's already on the GOAT list Mets with their new regime need to be breaking his door down

I’d imagine Theo would want to call the shots.
