Mets win, but left 17 runners on base. Not good. This needs to be fixed.

Angels to cut Albert Pujols Looks like it is the end of the line for him. He might get picked up somewhere as a bench bat/DH in hopes of getting a ring. I'm more surprised he came close to finishing the 10 years and made it to the last year He’s got two choices if he doesn’t retire if we’re being honest with ourselves. Reunite with LaRussa in Chicago in a bench/DH role. Or. Let the Cardinals retirement tour commence.

How do you cut a hall of famer in his already announced last season?

Well, after signing with the Angels, his productivity plummeted. As far as people are concerned, he's nothing more than a novelty act.

He said he was unsure about retirement. Well, after signing with the Angels, his productivity plummeted. As far as people are concerned, he's nothing more than a novelty act. And it is basically said he got cut because he was complaining about playing time and decisions to bench him came from up top and not the manager. He ruffled feathers with no cushion to fall back on He never came close to anywhere near Prime Albert territory with Angels. Doesn't help that I believe he is actually a year or two older than he says which some people in baseball also believe

Personally he should suck it up and reunite with the Cards....Goldschmidt be damned. Unless the pitchers are cruising and going the full game he’ll get a pinch hit chance daily plus he can give Goldy a breather on occasion. Plus he can DH anytime they’re in AL parks. No ones giving him full time playing time...but...the Cards are in first place and Pujols still has some firepower. He should deal with the lower playing time and chase that possible last ring.

Well now what it is like to be alive in 1934 when the Yankees cut Babe Ruth.

Sure as hell be better than watching Matt Carpenter hit into the shift every at bat or strike out. Though unfortunately there are not a whole lot of ways for them to utilize him right now that'd be satisfactory. If the DH becomes universal next year though, I don't see why they wouldn't do a 1 year deal and let him retire as a Cardinal. Hell, bring back Wainwright and Yadi and let the old crew ride off into the sunset.

Not MLB, but MiLB.
Birmingham lost to Biloxi 14-6 Thursday. But that's not the story. In the 6th inning, here is what 3 pitchers did for the Barons:
1 IP, 1 H, 12 R, 12 ER, 13 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP, 87 pitches, 27 strikes.
Yes, they gave up 14 walks in one inning!!!

I am afraid this could happen that after the Astros series, the Yankees would have a led down, they got to get his ass back in gear.

So you can't wait to get Cole out of the game, yet you let Klober in too long. Aaron Boone everyone.
Can the Yankees just fire their hitting coach already, if the Mets can do it, so can they.

To semi quote LeBron, whoever came out with this extra inning rule needs to be fired.
No matter what happens at least Chapman won't get a lose because of this stupid rule.
Edit: Okay the Yankees won, I still don't like that rule.

Nice recovery after those two bad losses to the Padres. Are the Giants actually good? I keep thinking they’re going to fall back.

I like the rule
Adds excitement to the game. Might tweak the rule so the away team has a runner on 1st instead of 2nd so the home team still maintain that advantage but even then it isn't a big deal

Give the teams a chance to win the game legit. But put a runner on 1st, I don't object to that.
