so Sinclair who are a distributer of the Marquee Network for The Cubs, pulled a fast one, they removed it from HuluLive, and also made it to where now its a premium sports channel for Comcast and thus right now around 90% of Chicago no longer has Marquee...a network that is for airing Cubs games. Hopefully this gets fixed before the new season but still yikes!

Seems like every year, every market is at risk of losing their games because they refuse to understand that they take a hit just like the rest of TV networks during the cord cutting era.

MLB made a deal with the devil when it tied its financial fate to cable companies. The teams are now revenue machines thanks to their RSNs, but man are they primed to get absolutely destroyed when the bubble fully bursts. They desperately need to start thinking a lot harder about an online future, but instead we still live in the age of regional blackouts and other assorted nonsense.

Randy Arozarena was released from Mexico prison
He reached an agreement with his former partner in which she had declined to not pursue charges. The judge reportedly determined their wasn't enough evidence to pursue
Going to be interesting to see what MLB does

Blue Jays seem to be the buzz of the off season.
First, they seem to be in on every free agent out there.
Now they are demolishing their stadium.
Interesting times.

MLB's finally begun their major announcements regarding the minor leagues. The Pioneer League is out, and is instead an independent "partner" league. Meanwhile, an all-new MLB Draft League will replace short season baseball and currently has four NY-Penn League teams as well as the Trenton Thunder.

Rogers Centre is a crappy stadium that gets overlooked because of Tropicana Field and the Oakland Colosseum. And it also has a nice view when the roof's open. Glad to see the Blue Jays realize this. Maybe their next stadium will have a playing surface that doesn't murder infielders' legs.

I always disliked Trevor Bauer because I thought of him as baseball's version of Neil deGrasse Tyson, chiming in with an opinion on Twitter about everything when nobody f**king asked him for one. (And also for allegedly cheating despite portraying himself as Mister Integrity during the Astros scandal). But I didn't realize he also had this gross side to him.

Rosario is useful as well. Rodon and Franco seemed like franchise building blocks at one point, as well as Nomar who I believe was a top 10 prospect at one point. Schwarber is what he is, a poor man's Adam Dunn who will continue to get worse and is somehow only 27. And if the ball ever goes back to not being juiced, his career is probably over very shortly after.

All of them will get major league contracts sans maybe Mazara who has fallen off the earth since his rookie season Schwarber will have to hope to rebound with an AL team and play DH tho if they keep DH in NL he’s fine. As said he’s a poor mans Adam Dunn which ain’t good in an era where everyone can hit HRs. Still he’s young enough for people to give him some time Rodon probably goes to BP since he’s injury prone. Rosario should bounce somewhere bottom of the order hitter since he can’t walk to save his life. Franco not a top prospect but was productive so he’s a cheaper option. Dahl will get a chance somewhere. Bradley can find himself somewhere in Miami or something to be given his chance

Rodon in the pen may be one of those guys who finds himself and becomes decent. Rasario's biggest issue is that OF is so deep everywhere, unless he goes to a very bad club.

Rosario is going to have to wait to see how the OF marker shapes unless he jumps on the first offer he sees. Marlins could use a cheap corner since Brinson is looking washed. Cubs and Giants need cheap help too and both most likely not spending The NBA showed they didn’t give a f*** about a pandemic and it didn’t hurt their bottom line too much cause they got 80% of their season in and was able to pay people. MLB got no fans in until the WS on a shortened season. How contracts will be handled will be interesting Even top options like JT and Springer I don’t see signing some ludicrous deal.

I think the market will be an extreme of what we saw recently. Big fish still get theirs but the mid and lower-tier FAs get pennies. Springer will be fine because his résumé speaks for itself, and because he's a big target of the new Mets ownership who will try to land him in a good faith effort to show the fanbase. Realmuto probably not though, being a catcher.

The Reds salary dump continues. They trade Rasiel Iglesias to the Angels for Noé Ramirez and a Player to be Named Later.
Also, happy (virtual) Winter Meetings!

Mets getting active. They're getting close on a deal with James McCann and may get Springer and/or Bauer next.
