Yea, he doesn't even have to work for another franchise, he's already on the GOAT list Mets with their new regime need to be breaking his door down But would he want to “work under” Alderson? I’d imagine Theo would want to call the shots. I think if Theo wants to work with the Mets, Sandy would be willing to be a "co-chair" or a little lower position to make that happen Especially if Phillies are involved as people are expecting

Cano banned for year after positive PED test Dude just cost himself 24 million dollars. I am floored by the stupidity.

This also frees up $24 million for a year with a new owner who isn't afraid to spend money. Cano's an idiot, but this could be a big blessing in disguise for the Mets.

Small point, but the money the Mets save off Cano is more like $20 million; Seattle pays a few million each year off his deal. Still, I'll take it: basically covers the cost of Stroman coming back on the qualifying offer. I was already interested to see how serious Steve Cohen was to throw around his money and make an impact as a new owner, but now with an extra $24 million to spend, I'm even more confident that the Amazin's will land at least one, if not two, of the upper-tier free agents in this year's class (Trevor Bauer, JT Realmuto, George Springer, Marcell Ozuna). It depends how they feel on the rest of rotation and Thor coming back but if they can get Bauer on a year deal, that rotation will be filthy Going to be honest here: I don't want Bauer anywhere near the Mets. Put aside that his increased spin rate is clearly a result of cheating with excessive pine tar (dude ripped on the Astros for doing it, then obviously did it for himself immediately afterward), he's just a gigantic piece of shit that I have no desire to cheer for or watch play in blue and orange. He can sign literally anywhere else and go f*** himself. I'll be quite happy if they sign Masahiro Tanaka and/or Charlie Morton plus a depth guy or two, and I'm sure they'll check in on Carrasco given that Cleveland is in sell-off mode, and then if Syndergaard comes back strong we'll be looking at something special, but Bauer can piss up a rope. As for position players, really hoping Alderson isn't honestly looking into Ozuna, dude is not a fit for the Mets' current roster and the team needs to boost their defense, which 2021 Ozuna would do just about nothing for. Deadly bat, for sure, but the Mets' lineup is already deep and I think there are better ways to spend that money. Not much need for LeMahieu, either, given that Jeff McNeil is an All Star caliber player at second base, but I guess that could come down to how different pieces move around. They should definitely be in on Realmuto and Springer, though, but in the event they can't get to either I'm pretty happy with James McCann as a viable option at catcher or doing something like bringing in Jackie Bradley and Jake Marisnick to split time in center, and focusing the big money on the rotation and bullpen (Brad Hand, pls n thnx). ...Jesus, I had almost forgotten what it's like to be a fan of a big market team that actually operates like one.

The Dodgers are in real talks to get freakin’ Nolan Arenado. That’s one way to stomp out the memory of the Covid bridge troll Turner.

Braves sign Charlie Morton to a 1 year, $15 million deal. Braves are loaded if they can keep Ozuna. Wonder how they blow it next year.

It appears we're on the verge of a fire sale down in Houston. Not only does Jim Crane not even want to bother keeping George Springer, but he's now shopping around Carlos Correa.
I guess he wants to be known more as a "cheap ass" instead.

I guess he wants to be known more as a "cheap ass" instead. In fairness, Springer is 30 and you can argue they will have gotten his best years already Correa is injury prone and has not become that A-Rod type player he was touted as. They can get a good sum for him because his reputation is still higher then his play

6 years after originally getting shunned by him, the Giants will once again go after Jon Lester.

Sounds like the Mets are trying to get more than one of the big 4 names available (Bauer, Realmuto, Springer, Lindor)
