Damn, we knew this was coming, but it still hurts. It’s hard to imagine Jeopardy without Alex Trebek. He’s as iconic as the show itself. RIP

A funny moment was at Wrestlemania 7 when The Fink introduced Alex as the co host of Jeopardy. Or when Alex called Mr. Okerlund “Jim” during a backstage segment. RIP. Thanks for reminding me how much more creepier Mania 7 has become....and Regis in the same year. Another sobering stat: there was a Card Sharks tournament of game show hosts in 1980. With Alex's passing and earlier, Tom Kennedy's, I think only Wink Martindale is the sole survivor of that. Including Jim Perry and Gene Wood. Seriously, though, been a fan since High Rollers and Battlestars. I knew this was a possibility but still hits me hard. That Alex continued working till the very end is honorable, and in the face of the two big C's. RIP.

Or when Alex called Mr. Okerlund “Jim” during a backstage segment. RIP. That was so great and I think both guys were in on the act. Gene would always introduce a celebrity as his "good, close, personal, long time friend" and in this case Alex called him the wrong name. I would have liked to see him on a few other WWE events because he seemed to "get" wrestling. He seemed like a really great, honest quality guy and the more I read about him seemed like celebrity was secondary in his life. A few years ago I loved reading a lengthy internet article about him doing contractor work on his daughter's house. I can't remember the specifics but I think his daughter was building a house, wanted to hire a contractor when Alex noted that he was an experienced handyman and wound up doing the electrical, plumbing and wood work. I can't say I followed his last year as much as others but I followed it pretty closely. Sad as it is, I think he probably passed happily and as peaceful as he could. He passed knowing that he was beloved by his family of course but also by so many fans and the show staff. People seemed to be his life and his death was met with reassurance of the love we all had for him.

Apparently, the final episode of Jeopardy that he filmed a few weeks back is airing in syndication on Christmas Day.

This one hurts... scrolling through Twitter and watching people posting their favorite clips, both laughing and teary eyed... He’ll be greatly missed. RIP Alex

Game Shows are seldom institutions these days, few hosts of them are, Jeopardy and Alex are both. RIP.

It's always been a dream of mine to be a contestant on Jeopardy and have at least one of Alex's weird post-first commercial break interviews. Bonus points if he ended it with a "Good for you," which I loved for how unintentionally condescending it sounded.
Now even if I actually do realize the dream of playing on Jeopardy, it won't be with the television icon. I've been watching Jeopardy since I was a small child. Alex felt like a part of the family we'd spend near every weeknight at 7 PM with. I'll miss him a lot. RIP Alex.

I think we all saw this coming but held out good considering he seemed to be doing much better at times. It also hurts because he was a big part of many of our lives. A lot of us spent a lot of family time watching Jeopardy with him and competing with each other to see who got the most right. I know my family and I did.
At least he's no longer suffering. R.I.P.

This news hurts me bad. I loved him in Classic Concentration and Jeopardy.
This sucks. RIP Alex Trebek.

Between him and Regis, Hacksaw is the only commentator/interviewer left from the show. EDIT: and I hope no Tweeters use this picture to harp on...someone else associated with the people seen. Let's not be sore winners. I'll leave it at that, TYVM. Time to put aside petty things and celebrate a man most if not all of us can agree on.

Celebrity Jeopardy in the afterlife is going to be wicked tonight.
Rest in heavenly peace to a television icon.
