What a tremendous documentary. I think Vince wants an Emmy seeing how the presentation was completely different from any other doc that WWE has ever done. I wonder if people were more brutally honest with him, would it have lit a fire up his ass to control his weight. Its a tough situation cause he seemed like such a nice guy. So how do you say it? Regardless how nice someone is, the issue is the denial. Denial is a wildly powerful thing, and some people are so stubborn (even unknowingly) they could have death stare them right in the face and they just keep doing what they're doing. Food addiction was largely laughed off around the turn of the century, same thing killed Big Pun (who was a tremendous piece of shit, as opposed to Yoko who by all accounts was a great guy) and it was seldom taken seriously as a major psychological tragedy. He was *paying someone to smuggle fried chicken into a hospital NIGHTLY*. That's not the behavior of someone who just needs a little motivation.

Undertaker being lowkey interviewed out of character as a secondary contributor like it’s no big deal

That was a bittersweet watch. It reminded me of just how awesome he was in his prime, but watching him gradually go downhill was rough. If we knew back then how much we know about food addiction today, there's a chance he could've been saved.
As a sidebar, I think this was literally the first time Hogan has even faintly admitted to the WM9 ending not being the greatest idea. It wasn't much, and of course he went back to talking about how it was him who gave Yoko that springboard to success with the KOTR93 match, but ANY admission of guilt at all kind of astonished me.

Yoko seemed like one hell of a nice guy, but man he sadly could not control his weight. You could tell how much he meant to the other members of BSK when they were talking about him. And they don't mention that it was the Kliq that Yoko went off on for trying to get Savio fired, but they acknowledge that the Kliq did try it. Between that and Hogan admitting fault with Mania IX, you could tell what he meant to everybody.

It was a great documentary, I enjoyed a lot of the never-before-seen backstage videos of Yoko hanging out backstage as well as a promo with Afa as the 3rd Headshrinker that never made air.
It was sad to see how much weight he put on towards the end.

I really don’t get this whole Beth Phoenix aggrandising over the last few years. It is both a compliment to Beth and an indictment to the division and the company that Beth managed to achieve as much as she did during a time when the women's belt mostly looked like the cheapest belt in the company. And this is during the Spinner Belt era. If Beth would've come around the time of the 4 Horsewomen, she would be considered an all time great performer. I mean, she is considered a Legend, but I think she would be even greater. A program between her and Charlotte could've been a really big deal, IMO. I'm betting, if she really wanted to, she could still go. I just think she is enjoying being able to be a Mom while also having a chance to still be around as a commentator.

Like I said, Beth was a "safe" icon too. As we don't know if she has excess baggage, unlike the divas/women of the past decades. Trish is pretty safe. I don't know of anything outside, that she did, being controversial. Lita (from meeting both her and Trish), is a nice person, and certainly iconic. It would be tough to do a documentary of this sort on her, when Edge is having his comeback. (Injury be damned!! ) The true documentary we need, is Ron Stratus. The once most hated guy, not even in the locker room!! Agree about Trish. I can't think of anything controversial she did at all. I mean, she was part of T&A and made to be Vince's mistress, but that was a product of the era. I thought she was at her absolute best in her Heel run, to be honest. As popular as she is/was, that's amazing.

I vaugely remember Yoko in AWA as Kokina Maximus, but I didn't realize they were the same person right away. He had gained weight between then and his debut. I just remember when he was at his best as Yoko that his matches were rarely boring even as big as he was. He was the epitome of an attraction in those days. Hearing all the great stories about him makes him even more tragic. I bet, had he gotten the weight under control, he would've been doing something with Roman even today. I'm not sure if it would've been anything physical, but he could've been around.... especially with Tribal Chief Roman.

Loved the documentary.
I think I loved the backstage photos where Yoko was doing the peace sign while something was happening like when he did the peace sign as the two Undertakers were looking into the camera.

Loved the yoko documentary. I did like the pictures they used when someone came on screen and you got a screenshot of them in the past with their name. I don’t think they’ve ever done that before but I liked it. I love the behind the scenes footage of wrestle mania 9. Did I hear hogan admit he made a mistake ? I hope someone recorded the time and date on that one. Nice to see samu of the headshrinkers looking well and healthy. Vince looks better than he normally does but his voice is gone.

One thing I was wondering was if they're all going to be the same length. Around 90 minutes worked for Yoko due to his relatively short career but how are you going to go over Luger's whole career in the same time frame? Are they just going to focus on his WWE time?

Only thing wrong with Beth's documentary was the lack of interviews with any of her rivals. There was no McCool, Layla, Eve, Kelly, or Rosa. That was a bit strange, not even them making a Zoom appearance.
Damn good documentary.

I watched the Yoko episode today & man, it got to me. A great show but a hard watch. Watched it last night on Peacock, and......yeah, absolutely the same. Was nice to see Yoko's kids, and so much of the clan (nice to see Lloyd get a lot of screen time). Not a lot of the Tonga Kid though. And of course it was really tough to see Sika, who didn't appear much (but for a reason sadly), still taking the brunt of Yoko's death hard as (to him) failing his brother to take care of his son.

That was a bit strange, not even them making a Zoom appearance. I would have thought one or two of those might appear on "Icons revisited" ("aftershow" of Icons , also on the network), but they have Mickie James and Molly, who both also were in the documentary itself.
