How did this thread turn into a thread about a man’s lack of passion? God forbid a 15 year internet show isn’t the same as it was at beginning when he was a 25 year old. A man, who up until last months, was producing a new video every Monday, Friday, and random stuff the other 5 days. He gonna get tired. Seriously, what is this thread? If ya'll don't like what he's doing then just stop watching, trying to find excuses/making up theories about his passions and desire is just silly.

Honestly, I still like most of the stuff he puts out. If he had not evolved over time it would have gotten old, to be honest. The fact that he occasionally reviews games that he, even while in character, actually admits are good is a nice change of pace. I mean, shitty games is still his bread and butter, but he's going to have to start finding more nuanced ways to critique games as some of the more obvious choices are done now.

I'm certain James had a lot of big ideas for Nerd episodes this year, but given COVID, everything was screwed and as such we have a bunch of very basic episodes.

Yeah the weird 'work ethic' conversation about dude putting out videos you watch for free is so strange.

Remember that James has a family to take care of now which he didn't when he started doing Nerd episodes. Obviously family should take priority over anything else.

Yeah the weird 'work ethic' conversation about dude putting out videos you watch for free is so strange. Whoa now, this isn't to be argumentative so don't take it that way, this is about how people make money from youtube. He has nearly 3.4 million subs, if I round that down to 3 mill, which is a big round since tons of channels would give an arm to have 400k subs. His channel still gets a lot of views because of the amount of subs, so if you go 3 million subs and guess that he gets 700k views a day, that's roughly 3 grand in profit a day. That doesn't account for the product things he does now like express vpn. So I wouldn't exactly say he's making video's for free when he turns that kind of profit off them. I have zero problems with him doing that either, youtubers with big followings should make good profits off of it.

Ok, but unless you're paying him I just think it's weird is all.

Free as in it’s on YouTube and you don’t have to pay anything or subscribe to anything to watch

I'll say that 99% of that has nothing to do with YouTube ad revenue because it's practically a joke that it even exists at this point. Like, I don't know about that guy but I'll be shocked if there aren't a bunch of endorcements and stuff that are involved with him rather than just mainly from YouTube.

Oh yea he somehow got a huge amount of subs on his main channel where he does gun stuff and youtube doesn't pay for that but he gets so many views he can sell his ad spots for stupid rates, I believe an ad spot on one of his videos is worth 40k.

So that basically goes into my point about why, say, you see so many ExpressVPN ads in his videos or whatever. They're the ones actually paying the bills because YouTube screws their creators in that way a lot.

Also, now I know that at one point in Japan's history, they had vodka vending machines. We still do.

Just got around to watching this. Taito's had some bizarre games over the years.
"Bat Blue" and "Lick Joe", LOL.
By the way, someone should make a gif of AVGN yelling "69, dudes!"
