Ring of Honor “Final Battle”
December 18th, 2020
From the UNBC Arena in Baltimore, Maryland
Commentators: Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman
For the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship
PCO & Mark Briscoe vs. Johnathan Gresham & Jay Lethal (champions)This was a solid match. Not really technical but I think PCO can really work well with anyone at this point.
Winners: Johnathan Gresham & Jay Lethal
Recap of Dalton Castles open challenge to Rey Horus (who was supposed to be defending the Ring of Honor World Six Man Tag Team Championships but his partners were unable to be at the show due to COVID restrictions) during the preshow.
Rey Horus vs. Dalton CastleDalton looked good here. He was looking run down the last few years so such a lite schedule this year was probably a good thing for him physically. He was still wearing a brace-thing around his waist so I’d imagine his back is still f***ed. For an impromptu match this was good.
Winner: Rey Horus
The Righteous w/Vita Vonstar vs. Matt Taven & Michael BennettI was getting some serious feed issues during this match and was unable to enjoy the match. But if there ever was a match for me to have feed issues that would prevent me from enjoying it I’m glad it was a Michael Bennett match.
Winners: Matt Taven & Michael Bennett
Afterwards the Righteous pummel Taven and Bennett.
If Danhausen wins he gets a Ring of Honor contract
Brian Johnson vs. DanhausenThis whole situation reminded me of a repeat of the Silas Young verses Dalton Castle angle from four or five years ago but with way more cartoony characters on both ends. It was the first time I’ve seen Danhausen in a match and while he’s not really a good wrestler he’s very entertaining.
Winner: Danhausen via disqualification (he wins a Ring of Honor contract)
For the Ring of Honor World Television Championship
Tony Deppen vs. Dragon Lee (champion) w/Amy RoseI really had a hard time not focusing on how stupid Tony Deppen looks during this match. I wasn’t sure if he was making an effort or not? But I was firmly in Dragon Lees corner. Lee apparently hasn’t wrestled since February and he looked good.
Winner: Dragon Lee
Both Shane Taylor and Jay Briscoes opponents tonight were unable to perform, so they’re facing one another in an impromptu match.
Shane Taylor w/S.O.S. vs. Jay BriscoeThis was a really good power match. These two always work well together.
Winner: Shane Taylor
For the Ring of Honor Pure Championship
Flip Gordon vs. Johnathan Gresham (champion)I’m glad poor Flip has stayed afloat since his buddies left him in the cold when they left Ring of Honor two years ago now. The Pure title is taylor made for Gresham but I don’t know if they have the opponents for him to make it captivating. I don’t know if the audience these days will really embrace these matches either. Thankfully the Bullet Club fans have moved out and who are left will at least appreciate it. I’ve liked all the Pure matches I’ve seen and I liked this one.
Winner: Johnathan Gresham via referee stoppage
For the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship
Brody King vs. RooooOoooOooOOOOOsh (champion)I’m really not a fan of either of these guys being in the title picture but it is what it is. I did enjoy RooooOoooOooOOOOOsh much more as a heel.
Winner: RooooOoooOooOOOOOsh

This was a good show for the COVID-era. It definitely missed there being a crowd. #RoHdoingemptyarenashowsforyears. I was just glad to watch Ring of Honor. I haven’t in a long while and there were a few faces I have no idea who they were but that don’t matter. It certainly didn’t feel like a big, year end show though. It was just a nice welcome back.
As mentioned a bunch of guys couldn’t make the show because of COVID restrictions. I don’t know if they were sick or just stuck somewhere and couldn’t travel. Those names were Flamita, Bandito (who were to defend the six man championships with Rey Horus against Shane Taylor and S.O.S.), EC3 (who was supposed to fight Jay Briscoe) and Kenny King.
