Just watched another company and they had a ref bump, which I'm usually not a huge fan of. I tried to think of a ref bump in AEW, and I feel like there was one, but I can't remember.

I dont know about a bump but they have specifically liked to play spots around Rick Knox where he doesn't notice cheating.

Not sure about bumps being done and them knocked out, closest they get is a distraction

I dont know about a bump but they have specifically liked to play spors around Rick Knox where he doesn't notice cheating. Yeah, Knox is seemingly the experienced ref who has been bumped so much he has PTSD to the point that he will fling himself away from the action to avoid getting hit (thus allowing FTR to cheat with a belt shot because Knox thought a bounce back off the ropes was coming). Remsburg (if that is his real name) is going to get got by Eddie Kingston in a match eventually. You can feel it in the air.

We've had a bunch of ref distractions, but I can't recall one time in AEW where there was a ref bump.

So they don't do bumps. I wonder if it's Khan, or whowver it is, that said no to the ref bumps. I hate them so I'm happy about it. But if it happens, at least it isn't a normal thing.

Like the dearth of unclean finishes (if you're not Brandon Cutler or Peter Avalon).

I recall Moxley beating him up after the draw versus PAC.

That's just being pissed at the ref for some reason, usually to show how little the wrestler respects authority.

Yeah, there have been some intentional altercations between talent and officials. Nyla Rose and the Bucks come to mind.
I'll be honest in that I'll be happy if I never see a ref bump spot again, lol. Like, it's just such a silly thing to me to see the ref sell an unintentional push or brush like it's death.

I also get scary Russo booking flashbacks when ref bumps happen, and that needs to be left in the past.

It feels like... ok here comes some pointless and lazy storytelling with contrived drama.

I think the Bucks-Acclaimed was the first ref bump. At least it didn't lead to a heel finish.

I didn't see the spoilers so I bit on that one. It happened earlier in the show too when Shida got distracted and Gracia almost pinned her.

I think the Bucks-Acclaimed was the first ref bump. At least it didn't lead to a heel finish. And Rick Knox deserved it!

I am fine with ref bumps as a major rarity if used judiciously and justified, but it also is usually a really lame finish. Teasing it, but the faces overcoming it is better, but I'd rather just not do it typically.

I completely forgot Dynamite was on last night, so I'll have to watch the match eventually. That said, I'm glad that it sounds like they used a normally lame and tired trope well.
