It's not that I hate them I think they have potential, it's that they have far more talented acts on Dark that they could be giving TV time instead. Like who? Baron Black? Shawn Dean?

I'd like him to get an actual Dynamite match, given his "match" with MJF was like a few seconds off to put over his finisher. Still, his opportunity is probably going to come after the new year, and he's a singles guy. Baron Black, same deal, really.

I'm amused that between having "Bad Influence" as a former name and Kaz's superior rhymes, that he and Daniels are arguably a better fitting as rappers than the Acclaimed are.

It helps of course that Kaz used to freestyle with Samoa Joe and John Cena during Cena's brief indies tenure, I think. So, he's probably been doing this since Max would have been in elementary school or something.

Well now they have Cena's "controversial" gimmick based on their reception here

So now they used the word "cucks". Hooray. If I wasn’t done with them after the period line I sure was after that. Sad to see people defending both on other sites. We arent defending both, but I also think it's an overreaction to be "done" with these guys after that. They haven't even had ten matches together. This gimmick has barely gotten off the ground. It needs tweaking, but they can easily fix it and AEW has the track record of doing so. These two are young and are good workers, they need to dial it back with the raps against The Bucks specifically, whether that's their fault or The Bucks or both.

Only thing I have to add is that he raps like somebody from Hamilton which is, frankly, a wonderful idea for a heel act. Don’t know about the execution but the idea is there! Well now they have Cena's "controversial" gimmick based on their reception here Damn, so you telling me I gotta love em for the same reason y’all condemn em? Their sophomoric humor is gonna be an issue tho. After all, a man’s measured by the way that he thinks. Not clothing lines, ice links, leather, and minx.

It's hilarious how Kazarian pretty much beat him at his own thing. Those were actual good insults and not just calling him gay. Kazarian:"2020 is the shits!" Arthur:"Hey, that's gimmick infringement!"

My biggest issue is how whenever Caster pins someone he starts kissing all over their hand. It's uncomfortable to watch considering I've seen some guys try to jerk their hand away like they're having none of it.

It's interesting to see the differences between AEW's Twitter and Youtube comments, people on Twitter hate them (Then again they hate almost everything) but the Youtube comments on the match LOVE them.
At least they aren't in the realm of Nightmare Collective where everyone wants them to just go away forever...

I'm kinda surprised to see as many people complementing Kaz's rapping as there are.
Like, the disses were good, I'll give him that, but between the "AEW Roster Sings 'Judas'" video and last night, the man has no rhythm. He has negative amounts of rhythm. He couldn't follow a beat if it was glowing bright neon pink in a pitch black room. And he's the guitarist in a band, which makes the whole thing that much crazier to me.

I think it’s the insults most people are praising (hopefully ha) I agree 100% on the rhythm. I was thinking surely it can’t be that hard to follow a basic beat I mean I have no rap battle credentials myself to speak of but still lol

Honestly, heel rappers should be painfully bad at it IMO. Cena was turned face because of how entertaining his raps were.

The closest explanation I can get is he's wiping his mouth like he just ate, er go his opponent was a like a meal and they finished them. Excalibur and Taz have seen the spot multiple times and they have no explanation on DARK, Taz has called it out multiple times, which is weird, because Excalibur usually knows or is told things. The wiping hand ok, but the kissing. I guess Wyatt kisses people on the forehead for this move, and it's not considered ... assaulty.. but something about him kissing the hand seems non-consenty. Im sure he asks beforehand, but still. Creeps me out, which I guess is the point. Generally, I have enjoyed them, except the Bucks raps. I did notice that after the first Bucks promo, the disses on Dark felt less personalized, more generic insults. They didn't even do one on Nokozawa, which was weird to me. Made me feel they are tweaking them to see what works. Yeah, this is what is weird to me. You got one guy making pathetic and sophmoric gay jokes, then the other guy playing up some weird gay 'freak out' kissing. I just dont like it. It makes me feel like their gimmick is pointedly homophobic, and I just can't get in to it. It needs to change, they need to be outright overhauled and I can't help but think people defending it are too caught up in AEW is the bestest to see how awful this is. If WWE was having people doing the same, it would be crucified. Once was an eye raise, twice was an eye role, but spoilers suggesting three times....nope, sorry. That's just the cake.

I mean, it wasn't that long ago that Cena was making sophomoric gay jokes to mostly crowd pops and little, if any backlash online. Hell, I bet the Rock could do that sorta thing today and not suffer much for it.

If WWE was having people doing the same, it would be crucified. Once was an eye raise, twice was an eye role, but spoilers suggesting three times....nope, sorry. That's just the cake. First off, it's the same guy that did the same thing, Caster did the diss rap that said the Bucks cover was weird, and does the hand thing Secondly, saying their gimmick is "Pointedly Homophobic" is really ridiculous, and that's not an "AEW is the bestest" outlook, that's really insulting, it's literally just something weird that hasn't been explained in the hand thing which could literally be anything and it's just not clicking, and one rap segment that didn't land. There has literally been nothing pointedly homophobic about the act. Even the Bucks cover joke was joking about the brothers being creepy, not homophobic. And where did the spoilers suggest ANYTHING about there being a "third" homophobic moment? The spoilers for Bucks/Acclaimed have been the most ambigous spoilers of all of them if you got them from Spaceforce in the thread here, and any website I look, sites his spoilers. We've been over this already that Anthony Bowens is openly gay, that'd be really weird if The Acclaimed were outwardly homophobic intentionally.

I genuinely like them.
On my personal Lance Archer Scale (where a Lance Archer match or segment's entertainsment value is 1 point) the Acclaimed rate a solid 8 million.

Well with The Bucks calling them "The John Cena Guys" on BTE, at least they seem well aware of what people are comparing them to
They also might be aware of what isn't working since the rap section that included the "You are acting like girls on their cycle" joke wasn't included in the Young Bucks POV highlights.
