Their sophomoric humor is gonna be an issue tho. After all, a man’s measured by the way that he thinks. Not clothing lines, ice links, leather, and minx. Aiming guns in all your photos, that’s a no-no

It needs to change, they need to be outright overhauled and I can't help but think people defending it are too caught up in AEW is the bestest to see how awful this is. If WWE was having people doing the same, it would be crucified. Once was an eye raise, twice was an eye role, but spoilers suggesting three times....nope, sorry. That's just the cake. Mm, nah. Nah, the "you'd hate this if it was WWE" thing isn't gonna play. One time on Raw Enzo made a lame and shitty Bert and Ernie joke about Jericho and Owens that someone made a thread about, with the general line against it being just 'that was lame and shitty' and some people had strokes trying to paint everyone in the thread as being super offended and a baby. In the allegedly hate and contrarian-filled land where everyone dumps on the show they hate, a shitty gay joke was way more strongly defended than anything about these dudes has been in here.

No matter the show, it's pretty lame.

It's interesting to see the differences between AEW's Twitter and Youtube comments, people on Twitter hate them (Then again they hate almost everything) but the Youtube comments on the match LOVE them. At least they aren't in the realm of Nightmare Collective where everyone wants them to just go away forever... People on Twitter HATE EVERYTHING it is the undisputed home of the outrage mob. I've been told by people in various industries they seldom take what is said on Twitter seriously because it is such a clown show.

Well with The Bucks calling them "The John Cena Guys" on BTE, at least they seem well aware of what people are comparing them to They also might be aware of what isn't working since the rap section that included the "You are acting like girls on their cycle" joke wasn't included in the Young Bucks POV highlights. True, and Acclaimed intro to Dynamite from 2 weeks ago wasnt cut on BTE iirc.

Honestly, seeing these guys making more problematic remarks in the Dynamite segment made me actually hate it a bit less.
Seems like these guys are just being booked as actual pieces of human garbage. Not just heels, not villains, but the worst types of pricks. I'm not sure I'm inherently against that, but I don't think it's being executed hugely well. I will say that getting a wrestler to say 'cuck' is a guaranteed way of getting heel heat with me, so that worked well for me at least.
The issue with that kind of character is... the babyface turn then becomes something that is very difficult to handle, if you ever plan on turning them.

The wiping hand ok, but the kissing. I guess Wyatt kisses people on the forehead for this move, and it's not considered ... assaulty.. but something about him kissing the hand seems non-consenty. Im sure he asks beforehand, but still. Creeps me out, which I guess is the point. Generally, I have enjoyed them, except the Bucks raps. I did notice that after the first Bucks promo, the disses on Dark felt less personalized, more generic insults. They didn't even do one on Nokozawa, which was weird to me. Made me feel they are tweaking them to see what works. Yeah, this is what is weird to me. You got one guy making pathetic and sophmoric gay jokes, then the other guy playing up some weird gay 'freak out' kissing. I just dont like it. It makes me feel like their gimmick is pointedly homophobic, and I just can't get in to it. I really wanted to avoid doing this, but I can't help it. The fact that you think one guy does the "gay joke", which it wasn't, and the other guy does the hand thing, shows that you really don't watch the show. You literally come in here, read spoilers, wait for something offensive, and then go on to attack what you don't like. I could be wrong, but how do you not know it's one guy who does the rap and the hand thing? So since Bowens is openly LGBTQ, which hasn't been mentioned on the air, and he most certainly isn't homophobic, I wonder what aspect of their rap was homophobic. Was it saying that two brothers looking at each other's crotches is wrong? That's homophobic? Because I think incest is gross, and I don't think that's homophobic. Incest being compared to homosexuality is historically what homophobic legislators have used to try to make the LGBTQ lifestyle illegal. Do you think incest and homosexuality are the same? Women on their cycles line was misogynistic, and I'm not a fan, but it's not homophobic. They didn't say they're switching sexes or anything about being trans, they made a joke that the Bucks are on their period. Can you tell me where they used something homophobic on the next show from the spoilers on the show that just aired? "You don't have balls so you can use ours" is not homophobic, and that's probably their most problematic line. I'm not saying this to be offensive to you Legion, but I've dealt with a lot of friends in my life who have to deal with homophobia, and it's a horrendous thing. I had a friend commit suicide because of the awful abuse he took just because he was gay. I am absolutely sensitive to someone using homophobia to push their anti-wrestling company agenda, when it does not exist. I really think you need to re-access what you're saying. It's fine that you hate AEW and come in here to bash them 100% of the time, you can hate the Acclaimed because they are problematic, I don't like Caster's act sometimes, but it's not ok to call people homophobic who have probably actually dealt with homophobia in their lives, and pretty much admitting you didn't actually watch their matches because you thought two separate people did something, when only one guy did it. Here is an article from Outsports about Bowens. www.outsports.com/2020/11/4/21548774/anthony-bowens-all-elite-wrestling-aew-lgbt-gay-max-caster-acclaimed-battle-club-pro"“There was a time in my life when I was closeted, when I didn’t think this could be possible, and that fear haunted me everyday,” Bowens added. “Through my journey, I hopefully can provide hope to anyone else who unfortunately is experiencing that same fear.” - Anthony Bowens. I hope that line resonates with you before you decide to call his act "homophobic" in your next post.

Acclaimed not only had a good match tonight, their "Buck Hunt" music video was also good.
They proved why they were signed tonight having a banger with the Bucks, but more over they showed they don't have to hit below the belt to get this gimmick over. I hope that's their formula moving forward.
It's hard for me to be down on a team that just had their 10th match ever together tonight, they tripped up a little bit, but they're clearly making the effort to improve and not take their contracts for granted. I see big things for these boys if they keep it up.

Their least sloppiest performance on Dynamite yet. They're going to be up there come next year in the tag title picture. Although their bars on DARK are still a thousand times better

I didn't know until tonight that Bowens was in NXT for a hot minute, but suffered a severe concussion taking the AoP's Super Collider. Turns out WWE was going to offer them a deal, but Bowens slipped through the cracks, and that's how he ended up doing DARK matches and getting signed.

I think their push has come too fast, they needed more time to polish their act before hitting dynamite. AEW need a veteran tag team for dark to work with guys like the Acclaimed to give them their first feud and help them work out their kinks.

I honestly kinda think this is sort of a thing of letting them make a splash, and then mingle with other teams, just since, honestly, outside of SCU if they had done it in a feud, I don't really know what team I'd put them over in a feud right now that isn't busy. Maybe Janela and Kiss, I guess. Jurassic Express is firmly above their level right now, and feels like every other face team right now is feuding with somebody (Gunn Club, Natural Nightmares, Best Friends, etc).

Young Bucks literally gave Top Flight their second match ever in AEW They just wanna put the Young kids over. Maybe a little too early for a tag title shot, but this is how you establish more tag teams and more of a ladder for this division. Now if people beat Acclaimed, it means more, same if they continue winning.

It's good to hear that wasn't career ending because everything I've seen from him is very solid. This is also why I'm glad AEW exists, one of the many reasons anyway, more opportunities, especially for guys like Bowens, who may be getting bigger shots than they ever would have in WWE.

For a company that has a reputation on being aggressive with signings and acting like it’ll be the worst thing to happen to you if you’re not in the company...that’s strangely incompetent on their end.

They aggressively sign people if they're known more really. Bowens was not known, and until DARK he had zero pulse on the Indies really. Those types can fly under the radar and get diamond in the rough signings. This is why almosy anyone who gets really good reports on AEW Dynamite DARK that isn't signed immediately, you hear WWE saying they're suddenly interested in them.
