Yep, a legend and an utter knockout in her younger days.

Icon of British screen. Certainly a lot of fun on the Carry On films, I don't watch EastEnders but she had a very memorbale role as head of the Mitchell family in the show.

I don't watch EastEnders but she had a very memorbale role as head of the Mitchell family in the show. If you saw Doctor Who back in Tennant's day, she made a quick cameo in it as Peggy in "Army of Ghosts" telling a ghost to get out of the pub

It was sad to hear that she had dementia, so as awful news as this she’s at least not suffering anymore. A national treasure, a national institution and by all accounts a sweetheart of a person. Somewhere in Heaven there’s a Carry On reunion taking place. Sleep well, Babs.
