There are many legitimate criticisms of Jim Ross's commentary on the women, but he does this with Jack Perry, Starks, Allin etc. Especially with Jungle Boy every time he's out there JR is repeating lines about how he'll have to start putting on mass etc He can't even be bothered to get the dude's ring name right. It's Jungle Boy, not "Jungle Jack" or "Jungle Boy Jack Perry". He used to do pretty much the same thing during his New Japan run (Marty "Shurll", among others) and it's pretty disrespectful on his part. With Jungle Boy I don’t think it’s that JR can’t be bothered, I think he hates the name and so actively tries not to use it.

I think the move is fine, but AEWs camera work sometimes exposes the whole thing. You can literally see the wrestlers organising themselves to take the bump. For example when Archer came out last week, he was gesturing for lucha bros to get out of the way while you saw Butcher abs Blade organising themselves to stand together.

CM Punk previously tweeted about how he was sick of the same spot where somebody dives on a bunch of people huddled together. Guess he’s an out-of-touch old man too! *shrugs*

I also think JR also likes drawing attention to Jungle Boy being Luke Perry's son.

Oh shut the f*** up Dax. You are a fan of Cornette and even went on his podcast. A guy who absolutely shits on AEW for the sake of it and not because it's constructive criticism. JR is shitting on his colleagues and constantly does it. It's not what he says, it's how he says it.

JR is shitting on his colleagues and constantly does it. It's not what he says, it's how he says it. Regardless of your POV, this is the big thing from all this. You have a platform where you get to say how you feel, sure, but at the same time you have a responsibly to not constantly throw your colleagues under the bus repeatedly for stuff that comes off like you either don’t understand what works or to act like you’re above it all. If Corey Graves got shit for burying his colleague publicly, so should JR but at least with Graves, he didn’t name them (even though Stevie Wonder in a dark room would recognize who he was talking about) and only did it once (even if he didn’t learn shit from it).

I would assume Corey got a stern talking-to backstage, which is something The Elite or Tony Khan should do to JR.

I mean, considering how much of a hassle it caused at the time for Survivor Series that year and could have caused Ranallo to justifiably quit, you’d hope someone did. It likely causes less hassle than that since it’s on a podcast but that podcast is listened to enough by people to get a traction that something should happen here.

If he's actually commenting on this particular bit, it's really rich coming from a dude whose team uses the Hart Attack as a mid-match move.

Last thing, for those calling JR a sexist pig, just wait until hell freezes over and Cornette comes to AEW, you ain't seen nuthin yet! Tony Schiavone is already on the commentary team and he’s said some pretty questionable stuff himself on his podcast. They’ve done a great job at reigning him in on tv with that stuff.

It's funny how everyone has all these ridiculous complaints about the Bucks but LITERALLY the only moves the Uso's do are superkicks and dives and you never hear a damn word.
Why? Because they're in the WWE and that means they must be doing it right.

Any move can be a finish, the same way nay move can be a regular spot. Its all in the presentation. If there were someone who used it as a finish, you'd probably only see superkicks from that person and the Bucks, just because its associated with them, even as a non-finish.

Presentation is a big part of it. Superkick usage is becoming more common as a non-finisher, but they don't have the same kind of execution as Shawn Michaels' Sweet Chin Music. The way Shawn "tunes up the band" and then the power he appears to put into it, combined with his opponents selling it like death, are big factors into why it works so well as a finisher. The Bucks don't do the same setup or put the same oomph into their superkicks, so they aren't as "finisher' quality.
We even have examples of guys using less powerful versions of their finisher as signature or transitional moves. Kazuchika Okada immediately comes to mind. He's got "regular" versions of his Rainmaker and the special finisher version of it.
Hell, there was a time where the standard lariat was a devastating finisher while it's just a regular move used by a lot of wrestlers these days.

I swear I saw an episode of Dynamite before where they compared Hangman's lariat to Hansen's, and I'm wanting to say it was Excalibur who pointed out that Hangman isn't over 300 pounds so he does an aerial version to make it more impactful. That's the kind of thing that would solve most of JR's gripes, if he'd just... do it.

Then he got snippy on commentary and acted like he was only saying his name wrong to 'work him'. Even though he was calling tons of people wrong and didn't know who was who in the ring, claimed on twitter that he was never given prep material, only for people to see a post from the day before of him sitting in a restaurant looking at a book that was literally just a face and a name on each page.
