I’m not expecting any new music to come along and blow me away in the next two and a half weeks, so might as well start this thread a bit early. If there’s one thing I can say about the pandemic and being stuck inside with nothing else to do for long periods, it at least gave me the opportunity to get back into new metal albums. I bought 38 albums this year (not all from this year), more than I had bought in the last four years combined, and here’s some of my favorites from 2020:
Brothers of Metal: Emblas Saga Seven Spires: Emerald Seas Demons & Wizards: III Ad Infinitum: Chapter 1- Monarchy Allen/Olzon: Worlds Apart

I’m still ironing out my top 10 but the new Napalm Death is a lock for number one.
It’s incredible that almost 40 years in they released their best album yet.

Night Crawling is such a bop. Probably my fave song of 2020, and I can't say I ever expected to say that of Idol or Cyrus, let alone both of them together.

Number 1 song has been a lock for months. Pussy on lock if you will.

In order:
10. Bruce Springsteen - Letter to You 9. Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters 8. Alanis Morissette - Such Pretty Forks in the Road 7. Code Orange - Underneath 6. Testament - Titans of Creation 5. Pearl Jam - Gigaton 4. AC/DC - Power Up 3. Sturgill Simpson - Cuttin' Grass Vol. 1&2 2. Deftones - Ohms 1. Poppy - I Disagree
I would give a "These albums were pretty okay" to the new Ozzy and Lamb of God.
Worst album of the year has to be that Green Day album. With the album cover and awful songs, I'm still not sure if that was supposed to be a joke or not.

If I have 3 to make a list this year I'll be shocked. The new Anaal Nathrakh and IDLES Cds were really good but by and large I've been listening to older albums this year.

I'm another who has barely listened to new music this year. American Head by the Flaming Lips is really good, so that's probably my album of 2020.
