It's such such an unintentionally hilarious show. If there were ever a Mania that would be perfect for MST3K riffing, it's this one, thanks to all the gaffes and '80s camp and general cheesiness. How can one, in earnest, resist commentary from the Uh Oh Queen herself, Susan Saint James? Not to mention that mat classic, Uncle Elmer vs. Adrian Adonis.

Elmer falling on his ass after delivering a punch.

Just read an article from the Chicago Tribune about how disappointed Tom Thayer was about not getting to be in the battle royal. He was a big fan and was at the Press Conference.
I forgot who took his place.

Keep in mind, home pay per view was in its infancy in 1986. I believe many people had to rent a special box from the cable company just to order a pay per view event. Wrestlemania I was closed circuit exclusively. So seeing WM 2 from one of the three venues was like watching closed circuit wrestling with the added bonus of getting to view one-third of the show live.

Actually, the first Wrestlemania was shown on pay-per-view in some markets.

2 was my first and one of my absolute favorites-maybe my favorite period in the WWF as it was my introduction to so many wrestlers. As for the three locations, watching it after the fact on video and not being there live, it had no effect on me.
I liked all the matchups on the card and it was a good use of most of their stars at the time.
Recently, I watched a bit of the buildup for it and the event itself, and I swear I was moving and throwing punches on the couch during the Hogan/Bundy match. Yes-I've seen it before and knew the outcome, but it still drew me in all this time later and that's really saying something.
Maybe my favorite WM actually, mainly due to the era. I'm to the point that I only want to watch the first four-maybe 5 anymore.
