...who does or did?
There’s this website atvaudio.com run by Phil Gries. He has an incredible backlog of audio sound checks. At one time, he had the audio from the January 17, 1970 episode of the Jackie Gleason Show but the tape got damaged and he sent it to another person who never sent it back. I have been looking for that episode with the Incredible World of Ed Norton clip for years. I asked Mr. Gries if he remembers the person’s name and probably because it was so long ago, he forgot his name.
Does anyone know of anyone else who collects audio sound checks or used to collect them? I know of Robert Jay of tvobscurities.com but who else?

Similar, but I am of course part of a group that tracks/collects closing logos and movie logos.
Taping stuff off of the TV or whatever? Sure...did that a LOT as a kid and in my teens. Without the internet, that was how I captured entrance themes or show opens for wrestling. Other theme songs too, of course.
I'd also capture commercials I was obsessed with that way.
