I went 8. If nothing else, Cody vs Angelico was absolutely my kind of match. Biting the ring rope? Really selling his locks as agonizing to resort to that to get out.

A 6/10 for me - too many matches with jobbers and people I don't care about. It felt like a filler show because of this.

Dude, the women were shoved in the exact same slot on the show again in a meaningless match with little build or consequences. The Women's Champ also wasn't featured in any capacity. Things have certainly improved but the situation remains dismal compared to the other divisions. Shida/Abadon had a good segment on DARK, yeah I get it it was DARK but the Rosa/Baker segment was at 9:10, then The Accclaimed match happened, then the Women's Tag happened, and the build was two backstage assaults by the Vixens which took out Brandi and almost took out Velvet. It was at the very least something, it wasn't meaningless. Yeah they need to continue working on them, but they were much worse a few months back. I'm seeing promise at least, young developing talent, more trust in the depth, it's been a grind but at least there's been movement instead of them staying in the same rut. I just hope it can continue, and they get some big matches for New Years Smash The Rosa/Baker segment was less than 2 minutes long and then they had a seemingly meaningless tag match in Q7 broken up by a half PIP commercial. Is it always only the women who get the half PIP commercial break followed by actual full-screen commercials?. I didn’t notice any other matches getting that treatment.

6/10 seems about right. Most of the show was just kind of there with a lot of filler but some enjoyable segments sprinkled throughout.

Most matches get the PIP interruption and what commercial breaks gets the full-screen ads is entirely up to TNT. I've seen it interrupt other kinds of matches, too.

Yeah this is the second time I’ve ever noticed it and both times it was during the women’s match. Makes sense that TNT makes that call, though.

It was a 7 show but I'm giving it an 8 for "The Good, The Bad, and The Hungee"

7. Not an amazing show but still a solid fun effort.
Docked a point for the pacing, the past couple of weeks had kind of a hectic frantic pace to em which I really liked. I know they can’t keep that up every single show, just being kinda spoiled on my part.
And docked two points for the Acclaimed just because I disliked the whole thing that much.

Well that started fun and gradually fell apart. The dynamics in the first match were funny and Cody's match was entertaining.
I think Men on a mission guys are my first auto fast forwards in AEW, first time in ages I've taken such a strong disliking for purely on-screen reasons (and not in a good way). At least mission accomplished on finally getting me to forget the bucks recent heelish ways.
Other than that Matt and MJF both coming in to claim the glory for their teams is another example of running similar finishes/angles in the same show.
FTR's promo was bizarre on a tag heavy show and having a guy shout over a match is never entertaining, Sonny putting up with it was odd too. At least Tony was funny on commentary and the ending hook was good. 5/10
