I don’t recall over the last year and change, until recently, commentary mentioning that no one had ever kicked outta One Winged Angel. But lately I’ve heard them mention it more than once.
So, mark it down; whenever Hangman & Kenny eventually complete the circle (presumably at All Out 2021) and Hangman finally gets his world title win it will be, in part, because he kicked outta One Winged Angel
And if there’s a live crowd - god I hope there is - the pop will be huge.

The arc is Dark Order and Hangman, Hangman leaves because Bucks and him re connect Cody comes back in, getting him away from the cult. They all reunite because Omega has gone crazy, All Out 2021, Hangman kicks out of OWA and wins the AEW belt in fronr of a sold out Chicago arena.

I bet Kota Ibushi will be the first ever person to kick out.... Now give me all your money. On a more serious note, I have been hearing since Kenny was in New Japan that no one has kicked out of the One Winged Angel but the other night I learnt different. That Kota kicked out of it in a match in DDT all the way back in 2012, and well it seems like he is maybe the only person who has. here's a video of the kick out www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tDi0Fez-_U

I could definitely see Hangman being the one to do it, sure. I know that Cody, Omega, and the Bucks before AEW kicked off felt that Hangman had the seeds to be a big star, better of all of them, potentially. If Omega's going to be willing to have someone kick out of one of the most protected finishers in the company, it'd be him. (I think Judas Effect is probably the closest to it on that front.)

I just hope it gets there sooner than September? As it is I find both Kenny and Hangman incredibly hard to care about because the destination's so obvious that the journey just feels tedious.

My money's on OC when they finally wanna put the belt on him. The World Championship Title and the top star should NOT be on the receiving end of a joke gimmick. Washed out Jericho losing to OC via surprise rollup and in a gimmick match is one thing but jobbing the most devastating finisher to him would be like Santino beating Lesnar via Cobra.

Just more sinole than explain every time that since then Kenny has mastered and no one kicked out of the final version.

I wonder if it will be a moment that happens right before Omega's retirement from full time competition.

Is this legit? Did no one kick out of it in Japan either? I'm just curious. Even if it isn't, the way they have sold that move has me convinced even if it isn't legit so it really doesn't matter.

Did anyone notice how close Laredo kid was to kicking out of the move at Triple Mania?

Don't worry, Orange won't kick out of the OWA. The glorified mid-carder will get pinned by the true unbeatable finisher, the Mousetrap.

It did make me look up all the times Kenny and Kota have had a match after this event. I could only find two, one was a singles match and Kota won and the other was a three way involving Cody where Kota was pinned with the OWA. Maybe Kenny mastered it, maybe Kota was just two battered from dealing with Cody too. Only way to find out and sadly with New Japan and AEW not having a working relationship at the moment it won't happen. Is this legit? Did no one kick out of it in Japan either? I'm just curious. Even if it isn't, the way they have sold that move has me convinced even if it isn't legit so it really doesn't matter. If you look up a few posts in I point out Kota kicked out and even linked a video of him doing it. To be honest I didn't even know it happened till the other day

The whole point of having a finisher that no-one (except Kota Ibushi) can kick out of is to have someone kick out of it at the most dramatic moment.
At the present time, that's going to be Hangman.

True. And, to be fair, I DID say in the live thread for the 12/2 dynamite that I wouldn’t have been surprised had Mox kicked out of it. It’s definitely gonna happen one day and, yes, hangman is the most likely candidate. I just wanted a thread on the record that I can bump in 9 months so I can collect my prize 😂

OK, you have a right to your taste, obviously. I'm not saying otherwise. But I am... incredibly confused as to why you and so many other people think that storylines being "predictable" is automatically bad? All a "predictable" storyline means is that its the logical, straightforward choice for the story. Writing something that makes sense to happen isn't bad writing. Also, twists for twist sake absolutely suck for me, almost always, and have destroyed a lot of otherwise good stories. While twists can certainly be done well and make for compelling stories, the idea that a story should be either changed or rushed just because smart fans see the result coming is completely alien to me. As a writer, the idea that I should adjust my story if my readers see the outcome coming is... extremely annoying. I mean, I guess only slightly less than a year is a long time. But a lot of interesting stuff can happen in the interim with both Omega and Page's interim stories. I see no reason to rush it.
