34th in the night for Demo, 766K
That's a big number jump by NXT standards this week, almost a gain of 100k viewers
Would be curious to see what gave them the jump compared to the last few weeks.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the jump wasn’t because of Timothy Thatcher.
Always get happy when I see a bigger number in this thread. NXT has been exclusively good since... Halloween Havoc?

Well would ya look at that.
Announcing your card days ahead instead of 4hrs before the show actually pays off.
Now lets see if they learn the lesson and can repeat it because we have been saying months now...one of if not their biggest issue with NXT is they do not get their show out their for the viewers...they have been letting the competition beat them to this punch every single time....WWE's single biggest asset is in how many ways they have to market their shows to so many people , markets etc...and NXT gets like none of it but yet looky here announcing the card days ahead of time payed off pretty big time.

People must've been hyped for O'Reilly vs. Dunne.

I know it does seem at times NXT isn’t seen as that important to WWE but this is a show that you actually have weekly that people watch. What do they think it is, Hell in a Cell 2019?!

They have a good chance of retaining this number or doing even better running unopposed next week. AEW may also do better, it'll be later, but it'll be after a big NBA game ends...

The Number 1 Contenders match and the Main Event were the 2 best matches on either show so the bump was well deserved for that

I can see what the mindset is I think and I appreciate them trying to change up format atleast a little. What I think they were maybe testing the waters here and we will when the quarter hours come out is use the intriguig of the Kyle and Doone match to intice people to tune in earlier also stick around for the women who were closing the show. It is a clever way to condition viewers into not expecting the same people in the same slots weekly and so it creates this sense of if you like a certain someone or a certain match intrigues you , you can't just tune in expecting a match like Kyle and Doone to open or close the show but you actually have to watch the show in order to not miss things.

Advertising in advance along with Finn and Kross coming back has helped the NXT brand, besides NXT women divsion continuing being strong.

There are only a few reliable constants in life: Death, Taxes, and Thatcher segments driving away viewers.
Although I will be fair to Thatcher. The Grizzled Young Veterans aren't much better. NXT seems to have a problem with generic wrestlers, at least on the mens side.

So the experiment did work and worked damn well by putting the marquee match in the middle of the show they not only inticed people to stick around but actually gained viewers.
I do not expect them to throw a such a marquee match into the middle of the show every week nore should they but willing to change up the usual format was a very smart play and should be a constant keep viewers on their preverbial toes to not expect the samething in the same slot every week.

If they didn't have Dunne/O'Reily in the middle of the show they might not have gained the viewers back that they did, Thatcher really just can't win.

I absolutely love NXT, but one thing they need to stop doing is putting guys like Jake Atlas and Tyler Rust in these 10+ minute matches when so far there's no real reason to care about them.

Good, they deserve this.
Talent is killing it right now, even the stuff WWE fans dont want to see like Thatcher.
Might not be the demo (though thanks to Covid related financing issues, the key demo might not have the money to be the key demo for a little while), but the improved eyes is a good sign for them at least
