Thread title is self explanatory, what is your favorite game or games to come out this year?
For fun, I'll add a poll. I wanted to be as varied as possible and since the list got so big, everyone gets three picks.

Also: While Among Us exploded in popularity this year, it isn't a new game- it came out back in 2018.

This list has made me realize how much I did not play newer games this year. Maybe I'm hitting the point of just sticking with the classics.

Last of Us II was like being a part of episodic television. Loved that experience.

Happy to see Yakuza: LAD getting some love here. It's just behind 0 as my favorite Yakuza game so far, love the direction they took with the game since the combat system was getting a little long in the tooth. Hoping they have another entry similar to it in the future, but with all the other good minigames they had in 0 as well!

Hades hasn't quite overtaken Binding of Isaac as my favorite game on the Switch, but it's damn close, and it's literally the only game I've been playing since it came out three months ago.

Animal crossing, mostly for the prefect timing.Hades is probably the better game.
Streets of rage 4 rounds out my top 3.
Hopefully when Spelunky 2 comes to switch it'll click, I expected it to be my clear goty.

Definitely Animal Crossing. It was a nice escape from this year.
Hades would be a very, very close second.

It's a toss-up between TLOU2 and FFVII Remake. Might go with the latter because I was expecting to dislike it after how much I hated 15, but it was fun.
I'm expecting Yakuza LAD to beat both when I play it though.

And honestly, I would usually be fine with missing something but to be frank, it’s my game of the year. A genuinely original attempt at a battle royale game that came out at the right time, the right place and was also for free if you had PlayStation Plus. Even now, I can easily get into a game with 60 people to jump and shake my fist at those who grab me to take me out. It’s an absolute joy of a game, even if there are “better” peers on lists.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord. It's still in early access but it's the only new game I bought.

My top 3:
1. Persona 5 Royal 2. Hades 3. Final Fantasy VII Remake
I just got a Nintendo Switch yesterday and a PS4 this time last year, so a lot of my 2020 gaming has involved playing an entire console generation's worth of backlog versus many new 2020 games. That said, the three I listed as my top 3 are all wonderful games. P5 Royal is not just a GOTY, but one of the finest RPG's, if not video games, period, that I've ever played. Hades is a game I didn't have much expectations for (I'm not really a fan of roguelikes), but ended up getting after watching my friend stream it. Now I'm hooked. I also have a lot of respect for FFVII Remake not just being a paint-by-numbers remake of the original game and taking a lot of risks with both the gameplay and the story direction. I might or might not like the ultimate destination, but I respect the ambition and want to go along on the journey.
Honorable mentions to Fall Guys and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. I also have a lot of games in the 2020 backlog that I want to play like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Ori: Will of the Wisps, Ghosts of Tsushima, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Tony Hawk 1+2 Remake.
