Last night I came across a Terry Funk/Shane Douglas match from XPW. Now both men are capable of putting on decent brawls, but the match I saw had some pretty weak brawling around the arena, Terry getting a nasty gash in his arm, and it "ended" with Terry stripping Lizzy Borden (Shane's valet, and future wife according to the commentary) nude (ok, topless as she still had a skirt on), pulling off her panties (under the skirt) and choking Shane with them, which is where I tapped out. Was the whole company sleazy and scummy like that, or was there at least SOME worthwile material worth salvaging?

Yes,Dynamite D had some fun matches. Same with Rockstar Xaos.
Juvie's Juice Bar segment is worth tracking down.

Messiah was pretty good. I felt Angel was a decent worker.

Not really. The original LA run was a backyard indy version of ECW with a budget but largely without the same level of talent, creativity, or passion. Even Shane Douglas's run booking their expansion into Philly - using more ECW talent - faltered because Shane running creative was like Jeff Jarrett in TNA before Spike TV: Re-creating a lesser version of their personal career peaks, seemingly focused on making sure they were THE stars of their shows even to the detriment of their promotions.

The attempted War Games match but not for the right reasons.

Some of their 2000 shows aren't bad especially when the Messiah vs Sabu and Messiah vs Supreme angles were going on. Once they went to Philly in 2002 though things got bad real quick

XPW is hands down the worst promotion to ever get the recognition it did. So, no.

Even now and then you'd find a decent match or segment but no, not really lol. Even as a diehard ECW fan back then, XPW was just pretty much garbage all around.
