That was so depressing. Becky/Ronda was money and they never capitalised on it. The reaction to their face-off the night after the Rumble last year showed they had the first truly anticipated Mania main event in at least half a decade and they screwed it all up. It would be like adding Kurt Angle to Austin/Rock at X7. Loved Angle and he’s a great wrestler but he’s not a star on the level of the other two and it would just muddy the waters. The big money if you look at history is always in 1 on 1 matches. As if the live crowd reactions weren’t enough, during the few weeks before they made the triple threat official they even had the cheek to put up a poll on their own website asking whether fans wanted Becky/Ronda, Charlotte/Ronda or a triple threat. No exaggeration it was about 95% for Becky/Ronda and the other two shared the rest. They knew what people wanted and didn’t give them it. At the same time, the actual Becky/Ronda closing sequence at Mania being so shambolic hints at why the match needed Charlotte to keep it on the rails even if it was (and is) clearly an unpopular decision.
That's not true at all. If Ronda had been sloppy throughout her run, sure, fair point. But she'd been one of the most solid in-ring talents throughout her brief run. The late sloppiness more than anything points to the match being an overlong and bloated mess, while ending way too late into the night.

No it didnt,Ronda had good matches with Alexa and Nia. They didnt need to have Charlotte, they need to be booked well and played to Ronda strenghts Cool, you added Charlotte, did it make it a good match? No, does anyone say "man that wa sa great match"?No,everyone just remembers it was a mediocre match with an equally mediocre story. You could guarantee great story if you didnt add charlotte.Instead of bringing up the match she just solidified it had no redeeming qualities
You're not the first to bring up the 'but Ronda had good matches with Nia' argument, but the thing for me is that those matches worked well because both women did a good job of playing off the size difference and it suited Ronda's athleticism. I don't think it necessarily follows that it guarantees Becky/Ronda would have been great on their own, and you also have to bear in mind that Ronda was a face in the Alexa/Nia matches and had switched to the heel role (which she had very little experience in) by the time of Mania.

Honestly I get it because while Ronda had been having good matches for awhile there, basically from the Rumble on most of the rest of her run was just self-destructing. Remember the one-two punch of her awful Sasha and Bayley matches where she couldn't handle the crowd being against her?

Okay,Ronda and becky would have a meidocre match but an amazing story You add Charlotte you have STILL a mediocre match and an awful story. Hell when it was ever an issue people have a mediocre match as long the story is good? Andre vs Hogan by all means is NOT a good match. You wouldnt add Ric Flair to it to make it good.

Charlotte right now I don’t think is meant to be a plucky sympathetic face. She’s in that Okada Zone where they fight the heels, but are also super cocky and an established world beater so they can be booked against other faces without having to turn them.
I’m a fan, but it’s because of her talent and star presence, not because I see her as some kinda Dreamer-esque scrapper.

Well said. Plus while she's only been back three days, so far they seem to be hinting that while she likes and respects Asuka, she still wants to be the best, it's in her nature.

At this point I see Flair as WWE’s equivalent to Karin from Street Fighter. They’re rich snobs and they have rivalries up and down the roster, but everyone knows how skilled they are and they tend to side with the heroes when the situation calls for it.
