![](https://www.wwe.com/f/styles/gallery_img_l/public/photo/image/2012/06/108_WM26_Photo_099.jpg) The one attire that made Swagger look like a star, and he only wore it for that one week. I stepped on his foot, when I met him. I felt bad, but he was really nice about it.

Well this thread just says alot about the modern downturn in WWE doesn't it? The fact that Bret Hart, Macho Man and Shawn Michaels are leading the discussion shows there isn't a modern WWE male equivalent in costume iconography. I'd wager that a huge part of this is from the shift to how much of WWE's business is based off of merchandise and marketing. It's hard to constantly change up your look when there's a constant need for toys/video games/commercials where everyone needs to look consistent.

Idk how to do photos on phone but Kurt Angle in his black singlets. That is my all time favorite Kurt Angle look, the black singlet with wrestling shoes, during his all too brief wrestling machine phase. I really wish Mattel had gotten to making that version.

I even seem to remember that the talent aren't allowed a haircut without management approval.

That’s the story of why he’s in AEW now.

Most WWE wrestlers today and the last decade should have never made it past a local indy promotion. It just shows the sad state of WWE being one of the only games in town. I wouldn't pay $20 to get into an indy show and maybe get some autographs of almost any of the current WWE wrestlers. Most would be jobber in the 1980s or 90s if they were lucky. Sorry but not a lot of guys with plain black trunks made it on PPVs back in those days.
