As for favorite moves, for whatever reason, moves that are Japanese-named or Japanese to English translated always sound cool as hell.
-Ganso Bomb -Northern Lights suplex -Burning Hammer -Emerald Flowsion -Shining Wizard
etc.

I was thinking the other day about how Damien cross calls it the Razor’s edge and how cool it was that that move is forever associated with Razor Ramon. It’s like no over name stuck, and nobody did it as memorable as Scott hall. Same as a belly to belly piledriver is forever going to be a Tombstone piledriver. If you and your finisher are iconic enough, you just sort of end up owning the name of the move by default, it seems. Tombstone as a name predates the Undertaker. He was given the finish because of the name, not the other way around.

Back when Kevin Owens was on the indies he would sometimes bust out an F5 and call it the Final Stage Diverticulitis.

What's the mistranslation on Northern Lights suplex? Edit: "Northern Right Suplex" is the actual mistranslation. Hiroshi Hase came up with the move while he was in Stampede, hence the name. Ok, fine. That said, please be nicer to people for posting something as innocuous as a wrestling move name. Roaring Elbow was originally an ECW translation mistake for rolling elbow and that's where a lot of people first saw it and commentators and wrestlers still refer to it as the roaring elbow. It wasn't a transition mistake, it was Joey Styles doing a shitty "Japanese" accent

Being that it references my favourite video game, you know I loved the One Winged Angel.

I think that, unless you're a Hart, Canadian, or specifically calling back to Hart like Rock probably was since he was something of a mentor, I prefer people call it the Scorpion Hold or variations thereof. It predates it, actually describes what's happening, and isn't gimmick specific like the Sharpshooter is (Hitman). Personally I prefer the IndyTaker to the Meltzer Driver, though I get why they might choose the latter. They're actually separate (...if barely distinct) moves. IndyTaker is the one on the floor, and IIRC Nick doesn't flip for it. Yeah, I think IndyTaker is also what it is in the ring if Nick doesn't flip, they just don't bother doing the IndyTaker in the ring anymore since the Meltzer Driver is just a straight upgrade.

Meteora. Yeah, it's named after CIMA's whole Greek obsession thing, but the way he comes down on his opponent like a meteor, it works as a play on the word so it fits really nicely.
Nice German. Cause Don Fujii does a very nice German Suplex, duh.
Tiger Driver. It kind of rhymes, and it just feels nice to say.
Go 2 Sleep. Pretty self explanatory, you get hit, you're out, very to the point.
Burning Hammer. This is like the ultimate Final Fantasy supermove of names. You see that and expect some gigantic animation to play before the fiery impact razes the surrounding land.
King Kong Lariat. Probably the most beefy-big-boi name for a move out there.

I always liked the Rough Ryder. It's got the ego thing of being named after himself and it's got the Long Island connection as it's a reference to Teddy Roosevelt.

Being that it references my favourite video game, you know I loved the One Winged Angel. Speaking of Kenny Omega finishers named for video games, V-Trigger is one that sounds cool even if you don't know what he's referencing. I love all the "from Hell" variants (Kane's Chokeslam from Hell, Bradshaw's Clothesline from Hell). Calls back to their insidious roots, storyline-wise, as well as shows you how vicious those moves are. In the latter case, it also telegraphs what separates his finishing clothesline from a standard, transition clothesline.
