2004: 2nd Man to compete at 5 Royal Rumble PPVs without competing in the Rumble match: D-Von Dudley. This was the 5th straight Rumble PPV where the Dudley Boyz competed on the undercard rather than in the Rumble match. While Bubba Ray would later get into the Rumble in 2015, D-Von has yet to ever compete in the Royal Rumble match. In 2016, he had a shot, as the Dudleyz would compete in a Fatal Four-way Tag Team Match for 2 Rumble spots on the Pre-Show; but they sadly lost, still keeping D-Von out of the match. Also, this would be the Dudley Boyz’ last Rumble PPV as a team, and funny enough, they competed in a Tables Match (against Evolution members Ric Flair and Batista), the same gimmick match that they made their Rumble debut in back in 2000.
Only Rumble match for Matt Morgan, Spike Dudley, Ernest Miller, Rico, and Nunzio.
Only match at a Rumble PPV for Victoria and Molly Holly (Sunday Night Heat match).
Only man to be eliminated 1st in a Rumble match and then win the WWE Title later in the same calendar year: John Bradshaw Layfield. Wrestling as Bradshaw, the future JBL was 1st man gone in the 2004 Rumble match. Five months later, now remade as an arrogant tycoon, JBL won the WWE Championship from Eddie Guerrero at the Great American Bash.
1st Rumble competitor unable to compete after being attacked before the match: Spike Dudley. Spike was attacked by Kane as he tried to enter the ring as Kane was upset about being eliminated after being distracted by the sounds of The Undertaker’s gongs just before Spike’s entrance. Sadly, this was Spike’s only Rumble match. Also, this was the 1st time any member of the Dudley family had been in a Rumble match.
1st Man to compete in 10 Rumble matches: Solofa F. Fatu Jr. Solofa made his Rumble debut in 1993 as Fatu of The Headshrinkers. He would compete in the 1994, 1995, and 1996 Rumble matches as Fatu as well (though, in 1996, he was no longer a Headshrinker). In 1997, he competed as The Sultan. After a 3 year break, he’d be back in the Rumble as Rikishi for the Rumbles from 2000 to 2004.
Most Rumble appearances without competing in any non-Rumble matches: 10, Solofa F. Fatu, Jrl. He’s also the 1st man to compete in 10 Rumble matches without having competed in any non-Rumble matches.
2nd Man to compete in the Rumble match under 4 different names: Mick Foley. Foley would compete in the 2004 Rumble match under his real name, making it the 4th different name he would use to compete in a Rumble match.
1st 2-time Runner-Up: The Big Show. In the 2000 Rumble, The Big Show came close to winning but was taken out by The Rock, having to settle for 2nd place. 4 years later, The Big Show would end up in 2nd place again. He would later be joined by Shawn Michaels (1994 and 2007, though his 1994 elimination technically made him third-place), Triple H (2008 and 2009), and John Cena (2005 and 2010). Though, Roman Reigns has them all beat with 3 Runner-Up spots (2014, 2017, and 2018).
2nd Rumble winner from Number 1: Chris Benoit. Also, Benoit is the only one of the 2 Number 1 Rumble winners to last over an hour; Benoit’s time was 1:01:35. And, Benoit broke Bob Backlund’s Iron Man record, the 1st time the record had been broken since 1993 (if you remember, the record was broken for the 1st 6 Rumble matches). And, finally, Benoit became the 3rd Rumble Triple Crown (Rumble Winner, Iron Man, and Most Eliminations); on top of winning by lasting over an hour in the match, Benoit eliminated 6 men in the match. Funny enough, all 6 men he eliminated were much bigger than him: Bradshaw, Mark Henry, Rhyno, Matt Morgan, A-Train, and The Big Show.

2005: 1st Rumble PPV with no tag team matches. Besides the Rumble match, the 2005 Rumble had 4 singles matches (Maven VS Rhyno on the Heat pre show, Shawn Michaels VS Edge, The Undertaker VS Heidenreich in a Casket Match, and Triple H VS Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title) and a Triple Threat (JBL VS Kurt Angle VS The Big Show for the WWE Title). The 2006, 2009, and 2011 Rumble PPVs would also not have any tag matches on the card. And, if you don’t count preshows and dark matches, you can add 2008, 2010, 2014, and 2017 to the list as well.
3rd Casket Match at a Rumble PPV: The Undertaker VS Heidenreich. There have only been 3 Casket Matches at the Rumble, and The Undertaker has wrestled in all of them. Funny enough, all 3 had run-ins. In 1994, Yokozuna needed the help of Crush, The Great Kabuki, Genichiro Tenryu, Bam Bam Bigelow, Adam Bomb, Jeff Jarrett, The Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu), and Diesel to put Taker down. In 1998, Kane interfered to help Shawn Michaels defeat Taker. In 2005, it was Gene Snitsky who ran in to help out Heidenreich. However, this time, The Undertaker had help as Kane also interfered to help take out Snitsky, allowing Taker to get his 1st win in a Casket Match at the Rumble.
1st Triple Threat WWE Title Match at a Rumble PPV: JBL VS Kurt Angle VS The Big Show.
Only Rumble match for Daniel Pruder, Kenzo Suzuki, Luther Reigns, Muhammad Hassan, Mark Jindrak, and Paul London.
Only match at a Rumble PPV for Heidenreich.
Only back-to-back Iron Man: Chris Benoit. One year after lasting over an hour, Benoit drew Number 2 and lasted 47:26.
1st Final Four since 1988 where none of the 4 had been World Champion yet. In between 1988 and 2005, there were 3 Final Fours (1989, 1995, and 1998) with no man had won a World Title in WWE yet, but those 3 each had a guy who had been a World Champ elsewhere (Rick Martel as AWA World Champion in 1989, Lex Luger as WCW Champion in 1995, and Ron Simmons (as Faarooq) as WCW Champion in 1998). 2005’s Final Four consisted of Batista, John Cena, Edge, and Rey Mysterio, none of whom had won a World Title as of January 30, 2005. Though, all 4 men would eventually win World Titles. In fact, all 4 have held the WWE Title AND the World Heavyweight Title in WWE. As of today, the quartet have a combined 36 World titles: Cena with 16, Edge with 11, Batista with 6, and Mysterio with 3.
Only Rumble match to be restarted. Well, not entirely restarted, but the Final 2 men, John Cena and Batista, infamously fell out of the ring at the same time, much like with Bret Hart and Lex Luger in the 1994 Rumble. However, unlike that Rumble, this was not planned. Batista accidentally fell out with Cena and just happened to hit the floor at the same time. Because of this botch, Vince McMahon came out and ordered the match to continue as if neither man had been eliminated, another infamous moment as he tore his quads trying to get into the ring to make the announcement. Also, Batista is the only man to accidentally fall out of the ring and be allowed to reenter the match. The other 2 men who accidentally fell out (Steve Austin and Alex Riley) were considered eliminated.
1st Rumble Runner-Up to also get a World Title match at WrestleMania: John Cena. Cena would win a tournament on SmackDown! to get a shot at the WWE Title at WrestleMania 21. He wouldn’t be the last Runner-Up. In fact, Cena was the 1st of 6 straight Runner-Ups to get a World Title match at WrestleMania.

2006: Longest Cruiserweight Title reign: Gregory Helms, 385 days. Helms’s year long reign began at the 2006 Rumble when he beat Kid Kash (c), Funaki, Jamie Noble, Nunzio, and Paul London for the title. Helms was still the Cruiserweight Champion when he competed in the 2007 Rumble match the next year. He wouldn’t lose it until No Way Out 2007 in another multi-man match involving Daivari, Funaki, Jamie Noble, Jimmy Wang Yang, Scotty 2 Hotty, Shannon Moore, and Chavo Guerrero, the man who would win the title in the match.
Only Rumble match for Psicosis, Sylvan Grenier, Joey Mercury, Trevor Murdoch, and Eugene.
Only match at a Rumble PPV for Kid Kash and Ashley.
1st Man to compete in 8 consecutive Rumble matches: Kane. He broke the previous record of 7, held by himself, Rick Martel, and Owen Hart. Also, Glen Jacobs (the man who portrays Kane) would join Solofa Fatu (Rikishi) in having competed in 10 Rumble matches.
Shane McMahon’s only Rumble elimination. Shane eliminated Shawn Michaels from the match even though he wasn’t a competitor. Funny enough, this would be his only Rumble elimination even though he would compete in another Rumble match, in the Greatest Royal Rumble match in 2018.
Longest time in a Rumble match (main PPV): Rey Mysterio, 1:02:12. Though his record would be broken in 2018 by Daniel Bryan, that was at the Greatest Royal Rumble and not on the main Rumble PPV.
Only Rumble match with 2 men to last over an hour. Along with Rey Mysterio, Triple H lasted over an hour, at 1:00:16. Also, Triple H and Mysterio are the 3rd pair to draw Numbers 1 & 2 and last past the 30th man. In fact, this is the only Rumble to end with the 1st 2 men and the last man as the Final 3. Triple H was the next to last man eliminated, while Randy Orton (Number 30) would be the last one eliminated by Mysterio, making this the Only Rumble to end with one of the 1st 2 entrants and the last entrant.
2nd Man to last over an hour in a Rumble match without winning: Triple H.
4th Rumble Triple Crown Winner: Rey Mysterio. On top of winning the 2006 Rumble by lasting over an hour, Mysterio racked up 6 eliminations, the most in the match. Though, he is the only Rumble Triple Crown Winner to share the Most Eliminations title as Triple H also had 6 eliminations.
2nd Rumble Runner-Up to also get a World Title match at WrestleMania: Randy Orton. Orton managed to get a match against the 2006 Rumble Winner, Rey Mysterio, at No Way Out 2006 for his WrestleMania World Title match, which Orton won. ‘Though, Mysterio would still get his match at SmackDown! General Manager Teddy Long made the World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania 22 a Triple Threat with both Orton and Mysterio challenging Kurt Angle for his title.
1st Rumble Winner since 1995 whose WrestleMania World Title match didn’t main event WrestleMania: Rey Mysterio. His World Heavyweight Title match went on before the WWE Title Match at WrestleMania 22, which would be the 1st time since WrestleMania XI (Shawn Michaels’s WWE Title match with Diesel went on before the main event between Bam Bam Bigelow and Lawrence Taylor).
Only Rumble PPV to end with 2 World Title matches. The 2006 Rumble had the Rumble match go on in the middle of the show with the WWE Title match between Edge and John Cena and the World Heavyweight Title match between Kurt Angle and Mark Henry following it. Also, this was the 1st Rumble PPV since 1998 to not end with the Rumble match, and the next one would happen in 2013.
Shortest Rumble PPV main event: Kurt Angle VS Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Title; 9:29. This is the only Rumble PPV main event to last less than 10 minutes. Also, the Only World Heavyweight Title match to main event a Rumble PPV. Of the 5 times a World Title match main evented a Rumble PPV, this was the only time the World Heavyweight Title closed the show; the other 4 times would have the WWE Title going on last.

2007: 1st Rumble PPV where babyfaces won all the matches.
1st ECW Title match at a Rumble PPV: Bobby Lashley VS Test.
Only Rumble match for Kenny Dykstra, Sabu, The Sandman, and Kevin Thorn.
1st tri-branded Rumble match. Also, 1st Rumble during the first Brand Extension with an imbalance. With ECW brought back as a 3rd brand, you’d think that there would have been 10 wrestlers from each 3 shows. That was not the case as RAW had 13 wrestlers in the 2007 Rumble match while SmackDown! had 10 and ECW had only 7.
1st man to compete in 11 Rumble matches: Glenn Jacobs. Also, his 9th consecutive Rumble match at Kane.
Most men to eliminate 1 person: 8 for Viscera. Chris Benoit, CM Punk, Edge, Hardcore Holly, Johnny Nitro, Kevin Thorn, Rob Van Dam, and Shelton Benjamin all had to work together to dump Viscera out. Funny enough, Viscera broke his own record, which was set back in the 1994 Rumble match when he was Mabel.
Most consecutive eliminations in the shortest time: The Great Khali with 7 eliminations in 44 seconds.
3rd man to reach 4 Final Fours: Shawn Michaels (1994, 1995, 1996, and 2007).
3rd Rumble Runner-Up to also get a World Title match at WrestleMania: Shawn Michaels. Michaels would beat Edge and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat match for a shot at John Cena’s WWE Title at WrestleMania 23. And, he got his match higher on the card than The Undertaker’s World Heavyweight Title match with Batista.
2nd and 3rd men to to draw the same number 3 times: Edge and The Undertaker. This was Edge’s 3rd Rumble to enter at Number 5; he had previously been Number 5 in the 1999 and 2005 Rumble matches. As for The Undertaker, this was the 3rd time he has drawn Number 30; he was also the 30th man for the 1997 and 2003 Rumble matches.
1st Rumble winner from the Number 30: The Undertaker. It took 20 Rumble matches for the last man to finally win the match.
Most Rumble matches before finally winning: 8, The Undertaker. After 7 failures, The Undertaker finally won one.

2008: 1st WWE PPV to be broadcasted in HD.
Mike Adamle’s 1st WWE PPV.
Only PPV singles match at Madison Square Garden for Ric Flair, VS MVP. In fact, Flair has wrestled at only 2 MSG WWE PPVs; the other was with Batista and Randy Orton against Mick Foley and The Rock at WrestleMania XX.
Only Rumble match for Mr. Kennedy and Elijah Burke.
Only Rumble match to begin with last 2 men from the previous year’s Rumble. 2007’s Final 2, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, ended up drawing Numbers 1 and 2 respectively, the only time this has happened in a Rumble match.
Oldest Rumble competitor: “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, 64. He was the 1st Rumble competitor over 60, and the only other Rumble contestant over age 60 was Jerry Lawler, when he left the commentary desk to join the 2012 Rumble match at age 62.
3rd Man to compete in the Rumble match under 3 different names: Nelson Frazier, Jr. After having competed in the 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1999 Rumble matches as Mabel and the 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Rumble matches as Viscera, Frazier would enter the 2008 Rumble as Big Daddy V, his only Rumble match as this character and his last Rumble match.
Only Rumble match with the ECW Champion as a competitor. Chavo Guerrero, the ECW Champion at the time, competed in the 2008 Rumble match. This was strange since the Rumble winner could have chosen to face the ECW Champion at WrestleMania. Even stranger, Chavo had lost a match to CM Punk to qualify for the Rumble and ended up in the match anyway AND eliminated Punk from the match. It left a big impression in many fans’ minds that WWE no longer considered it to be a World Title.
Only Man to be disqualified from a Rumble match: Finlay. The reason: he came out early and used his shillelagh on Mark Henry and Big Daddy V for attacking Hornswoggle, which was weird because people had used weapons in previous Rumble matches.
Only Man to leave a Rumble match without being thrown over the top rope: Hornswoggle. The Little Bastard lasted 26:17 in the 2008 Rumble, mainly hiding under the ring and just popping up to cause trouble, like when he managed to pull The Miz out as he was straddling over the top rope, eliminating him. However, Hornswoggle got caught by Mark Henry and Big Daddy V, leading to Finlay’s early arrival and DQ. Hornswoggle would leave with Finlay and never returned. Since he never went over the top rope, not even of his own doing, he wasn’t officially declared eliminated until Cena threw out Triple H, with his “elimination” occuring when he walked out with Finlay.
2nd Man to reach 5 Final Fours: Glenn Jacobs. After reaching the Final Four in 1997 as “Fake” Diesel and then in 2000, 2001, and 2003 as Kane, Jacobs made it to 5 in the 2008 Rumble match, joining Stone Cold Steve Austin in having achieved this feat. Also, 1st Man to compete in 10 consecutive Rumble matches; Kane made it to 10 straight Rumbles from 1999-2008. And, 1st Man to compete in 12 Rumble matches; 1 as Isaac Yankem, D.D.S. (1996), 1 as “Fake” Diesel (1997), and 10 as Kane.
2nd Rumble Winner from Number 30: John Cena. Also, the 2nd of just 2 Rumble matches to end with the last 2 men to enter the match; Number 30, John Cena, won by eliminating Number 29, Triple H.
4th Rumble Runner-Up to also get a World Title match at WrestleMania: Triple H. Rumble winner, John Cena, chose to have his WWE Title match with Randy Orton at No Way Out 2008 instead of WrestleMania XXIV. This led to an Elimination Chamber match at the same PPV to determine who would face Orton at WrestleMania for the WWE Title. Triple H won that match, and Orton got himself disqualified to remain WWE Champion. However, Cena managed to get himself another match with Orton with the stipulation that if he won he’d get into the WWE Title match at WrestleMania. Of course, Cena won; and Orton had to face both Cena and Triple H at WrestleMania XXIV.

2008: Only Rumble match to begin with last 2 men from the previous year’s Rumble. 2007’s Final 2, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, ended up drawing Numbers 1 and 2 respectively, the only time this has happened in a Rumble match. Actually in 2016 Roman Reigns and Rusev the final 2 in 2015 started 2016

2009: Last Rumble PPV to date with no one pulling double duty. Yes, every Rumble PPV in the 2010’s had at least 1 person pulling double duty, competing on the undercard and in the Rumble match.
Only Rumble match for Mike Knox and The Brian Kendrick.
Only match at a Rumble PPV for Melina.
1st Man to compete in 11 consecutive Rumble matches: Kane. The Big Red Machine extended his Rumble streak in 2009, also giving him 13 overall Rumble matches (11 as Kane and the other 2 as Isaac Yankem, D.D.S. and “Fake” Diesel).
Shortest time in a Rumble Match: Santino Marella, 1 second. Ironically, in a Rumble match where 9 guys lasted 30 minutes or longer, Marella ended up breaking The Warlord’s 20-year 2 second record.
Longest gap between Rumble matches: “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, 17 years. This was Duggan’s 1st Rumble match since 1992.
Most men in the Rumble match at one time: 15. This is the only Rumble match to see half the competitors in the ring at the same time. This happened after Number 30, The Big Show, entered the match, making it the largest field in the match after the last man entered the match.
Only Rumble match where the Final Four came from the first half of the match. The 2009 Rumble match’s Final Four were, in order they entered: Triple H at 7, Randy Orton at 8, Ted DiBiase, Jr. at 10, and Cody Rhodes at 15. Needless to say, all 4 men had over 30 minutes in the match: Cody at 37:01, DiBiase at 45:11, winner Orton at 48:27, and runner-up Triple H at 50 minutes even. Funny enough, the man who came in 5th place, The Undertaker, had entered at Number 16.
4th man to reach 4 Final Fours: Triple H; 2002, 2006, 2008, and 2009.
Only son of a Rumble competitor who reached the Final Four to also reach the Final Four: Ted DiBiase, Jr. His father, The Million Dollar Man, had reached a Rumble Final Four 20 years earlier.
Last Evolution member to win a Rumble match: Randy Orton. Ric Flair was the 1st Evolution member to win a Rumble match, back in 1992, 11 years before the stable was ever a thing. Second would be Triple H in 2002, 1 year before he started the group. And, Batista would be 3rd in 2005, the only member to win while in the group. Also, all but Flair would get another Rumble win: Batista in 2014, Triple H in 2016, and Orton in 2017.
5th Rumble Runner-Up to also get a World Title match at WrestleMania: Triple H. This time, WWE switched things up by having Triple H win the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Title at No Way Out 2009. So, Randy Orton ended up facing the man he defeated in the 2009 Rumble match for the WWE Title.
