He had a helluva life, but still a shame to see him go. Danny Hodge is an absolute legend. May he rest in peace

Legend is loosely thrown around, but Danny Hodge exceeded that. Rest in peace.

Legend is loosely thrown around, but Danny Hodge exceeded that. Rest in peace. I tend to judge my wrestling legends by if my mother has heard of them, therefore, Danny Hodge was certainly a legend. We discussed his hand strength earlier today. RIP.

If Danny Hodge was born 50 or 60 years later, he'd be huge in MMA. He could tie you up in knots and knock you out. JR's tribute to him is going to be a tearjerker and epic.
I never met Danny Hodge, but I have an acquaintanceship with 1984 Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling (I occasionally play poker with him). He knew Mr. Hodge pretty well and told me stories of Danny Hodge doing Danny Hodge things where he'd blow up people young enough to be his children or grandchildren back in the 80s and 90s. He also said he was about the nicest guy in the world as long as you didn't try to screw with him or test him.
RIP to one of the greatest amateur wrestlers in American history.

RIP Danny Hodge. He was a real trailblazer in the sport. He went from being a legendary NCAA wrestler to being a legendary professional wrestler at a time where few even tried to make that transition. If not for him, would guys like Kurt Angle, Jake Hager, Brock Lesnar and others followed the path he paved? His legacy will live on forever.
