There was something strange anytime anyone asked him about him.
He’s been one of my favorites for years.
My heart goes out to his wife and kids.

Apparently it was a non COVID related lung issue, according to his wife.
I'm in shock. Not throwing out anything revolutionary here, but this is so heartbreaking on a number of levels. It's awful as a band, but the fact that he left behind a wife and kids is even worse.

There was more to his absence that we ever could have realized... now I really want to know what happened. I feel like he shielded us from something devastating. He was one of my favorite wrestlers of the last 15 years... he was an amazing man, he finally got his big break, and I'm happy to have seen it... but I'm numb... this shouldn't have been the end, and I'm gutted to see that it is... there's so much to digest... and it's gonna be very hard to. Also, just from a complete AEW standpoint... Dark Order has to go face now. ...There's just no way they can stay heel. Make Hangman their leader, just do it. Something feel good has to come from this. Uno and Stu win the titles or Silver becomes a double champ. Im truly speechless. RIP Brodie.

Wow RIP.
His wife posted that it was a non-COVID related lung disease.

I....actually don't know what to say.
I've not been this shocked by a wrestling death in a long time.

So his abrupt TNT Title win... I think that had everything to do with this. I know Cody said it was to film "Go Big Show", but when Brodie lost the belt, he left TV. He did a Podcast in like November when he said he was "rehabbing injuries and would be back"
I feel like everyone knew something that we just didn't. Knowing the after-show spoilers from Holiday Bash also involved Brodie Jr. winning the AEW title... this just hurts... I feel like we're gonna find out some really heartbreaking shit within the next 24 hours... just like with Boseman.

When I saw this trending, it took me a couple minutes to even process it. So shocking and out of left field that it doesn’t feel real. Kept wondering why he hadn’t been on tv. So shocking and sad.

Man. One thing you could always say about him is that he always stood out and made a name for himself. Even when he showed up with Bray in WWE, I never knew about his past, I only saw him when they popped up but the moment he popped up it made me think. Yeah, Bray is dope and he's Bray Wyatt but there was just something about Harper that made you think "hey, who's this guy in the back? he's legit." You then saw his ringwork, you saw what little he said, you saw the slight one off interviews, you saw that whole feud he had with Ambrose for the IC belt that really felt like a world title feud to some degree, man he was there.
Then when he went to AEW and became Brodie Lee again it was like "yeah, YEAH THIS IS HIM", it was this guy. Beyond that though he always seemed like a great dude from what other superstars and fans said about him. Always.
And he was only 41? I had no idea. Horribly tragic. My best goes out to his family and friends. Just wow.

Hangman becomes the leader of a broken Dark Order, turns them face, wins the belt and they all celebrate together I'd take Uno and Stu winning the belts... but yeah, I feel like this could be one of those "I'll cry when it happens" moments of wrestling now.

I know he's not been on TV for some time (I'm guessing this is related) it's still come as a huge shock. His work in AEW has been amazing, and his TNT title win was a definite highlight of the year. My condolences to his family, friends, and everyone at AEW.

It's such a shame that public tributes very often only come about once someone has passed, but what a tribute to the man that in an industry such as wrestling, he was clearly so well-liked, beloved and respected. I hope that brings his family some small comfort.
RIP, Brodie.

Damn it. Just f***ing damn it.
Everything was looking up for him. He was finally free to pursue his craft in a way that he was clearly having the time of his life in and then this happens.
My thoughts are with his family right now.

I’m at work. This has completely sucked the wind out of me like a punch to the soul. I don’t know how I will be able to focus the rest of my shift. RIP Brodie.
