Saturday afternoon, I started browsing through Hot Topic's website and saw that they had a 2 for $25 sale on some t-shirts. I went through their wrestling selection and put two in my inbox: the yellow FTR shirt (as they are my favourite tag team) and the Cult Cabana shirt. I was debating between that one and the Brodie Lee "Bearded Skull" shirt, and wasn't sure which one to put in. I put one Colt in as a placeholder, but didn't buy. I don't know what stopped me. Then the news of Brodie's passing hit like a ton of bricks and, among the tears, I forgot about that shopping cart.
Then Sunday came along. I went back to Hot Topic and saw 2 items sitting in my cart. I quickly went to swap out Cabana for Brodie, add in a Backstreet Boys shirt for my wife's birthday, and checked out. Pretty damned quickly.

Everything I've heard about this guy since tells me that his interest wasn't in safety or the truth, but in the hope he could be the one to bust open an "AEW covers up COVID" scoop. Dude was acting off of zero actionable information, just the belief that because COVID is real, families shouldn't have the right to privacy in the face of tragedy if there's a "public interest" in it (read: an interest of his). Keller should fire his ass. 30 years or not. He’s done major damage to the brand. I think implying that a grieving widow is lying to cover up a conspiracy to keep a company open, with zero evidence of any sort, is very non journalistic and a fireable offense. |

Just heard about this, makes me speechless. Glad he got to end it all on top of his game, regardless. Wish there could have been more years for #ExaltedOne in this time. What a legend! RIP.

Just as an aside, most active wrestlers act/have bit parts in absolute dog shit films. This one (Mohawk) is actually pretty good, a comparison would be something like The Hills Have Eyes |

I don’t know Bruce Mitchell so it’s not personal and I don’t like to see anyone lose their job but when you write something that stupid and are given the chance to make amends for it and your response is to double down and not even be open to you possibly being wrong then you have given people limited options.

Additionally, PWTorch lives in an entertainment world, and in an industry filled with garbage newz that you can fill up books with, this was the garbagist of takes. At least maybe wait a week. It certainly doesn't reach the level of evil that some "news" people have done in the wake of tragedies, but it was enough where I wouldn't feel comfortable having Mitchell working on anything I'm involved in. Much like the 240$ man, place and time. Also, when Chris Hero is telling you to apologize and move on, and you're like "I stand by what I wrote,", like come on. |

With regards to Bruce Mitchell, if I learned anything the past few years, there's always an audience for people who want to ruin something for the rest of us.
Yet for Brodie Lee, to see this outpouring of support is really beautiful. When we leave this earth we travel alone leaving behind only the love and memories of us with others. Jon clearly had a profound positive impact on so many people. His death was tragic, but let's hope it inspires us to do better and be more like Jon and less like Bruce.
