That's absolutely heartbreaking. The dude seems to have made so many loved ones through genuinely being who he was. RIP.

I don't watch much AEW, but based on what I'm reading here, he was gone for a while without much explanation as if something was wrong and they were being tightlipped about it? It's not certain but the feeling is they were trying to respect him and his families privacy. Everyone figured he had lingering injuries he was rehabbing but nothing like this was even hinted at.

This is horrific. Genuinely shocked. Brodie Lee was an incredible talent and I was happy to see him getting a big shot again this year. No age at all.

God, I just read Brody King say he named himself not after Bruiser Brody like Jon did but after Brodie Lee and...f***, man.
Nobody is ever ready for a passing under any circumstances but even still...

Awful news. Things were looking positive for him in AEW, and he was one of my faves.
RIP.

He has been out since his dog collar match with Cody in early October. He said on their Unrestricted Podcast (in November I think) that he was nursing some injuries after the match and hoped to be back soon. Jon Alba said that he had heard a few weeks ago that he was seriously ill but that everyone hoped he would be able to recover. I am glad that everyone was able to respect their privacy and this never got out.

Sad day for all of the wrestling world, he worked a lot of places and made friends.
Waiting on WWE's official statement, have they said anything yet?

He said himself that he was recovering from an injury he got from the Cody chain match and was allowed more time off to do that.

I'm just...I'm stunned. I legitimately don't know what to say. What a ****ing shame.
RIP Brodie/Jon

Yea, from what I saw it seems like some of the insiders knew a few weeks ago that he was sick and it was serious but they obviously respected the family privacy hoping for better news

I've been going through twitter while I've been trying to think of what to say. I still don't have any words, but it's clear how much he was loved and respected by the tributes coming from people from all areas of wrestling.
I really feel for his family, not only have they lost a husband and father, but at this time of year. Hopefully, they'll eventually be able to use it to remember the good, but until then, a time when most will be celebrating will be something that makes them think of the loss instead.
RIP Brodie

Couldn't believe it when I read it. This is devastating news. RIP. I don't watch much AEW, but based on what I'm reading here, he was gone for a while without much explanation as if something was wrong and they were being tightlipped about it? He did an interview a few weeks after his last match talking about how it took a lot out of him and he was struggling to even run on the treadmill. I assumed it was kayfabe selling the match but it's heartbreaking to think that he may have been suffering from the lung condition and not known that was causing the fatigue.

Not to sound flippant but I imagine whatever was being edited for BTE is out the door and they’ll either throw together clip show tribute or hold off a week so they can shoot new stuff
