I really enjoyed it, but If I'm being honest, I really think my enjoyment is relative to the circumstances. I'm not sure if I'd want a multi day mania with cinematic matches under normal conditions.

Like the last few Manias, there was lackluster buildup, but it came out as a damn good show.
Having it be 2 nights was a great decision too. I enjoyed Mania 35, but the length got to me, and I was burned out by the end. This allowed each night to end on a memorable note, and still let the fans want more after the first one.
The shorter time did mean an earlier ending though, so if it was done in a normal stadium, we likely would've missed out on the awesome day-to-night visual we usually get.

-First Mania to have a dark match main event that aired the next day on Raw What was the reason for the Big Show match? Just to fill time or something? Big Show's debuting Netflix show - which was actually good. Cat was great, wish there would be more.

WWE will have to either decide, to get everyone on the card or just the matches that matter.....if they want to throw everyone on the show (which is commendable) they should do two nights, if not a 4 hour show is plenty (and throw the not used wrestlers into their respective Battle Royals)

Wrestlemania 7 is a prime example. That one had 14 matches on it (plus a dark match), and managed to use almost the entire roster, but it didn't feel like a 14-match show - they managed to keep it around 3 hours, but a lot of the matches were shorter, aside from the main events and higher profile feuds. If it's going to be one night, this should be the model.

Compared to 2020 where it is well over double of that, probably triple.

WWE usually likes to do Mania the night after the Final Four games, it's usually a dead Sunday in terms of sports, so WWE can jump on it. If they do Saturday and Sunday, WWE doesn't stand a chance against the Final Four. The Raw after Mania goes against the Championship Game, and despite Raw being loaded, it still gets killed. If they do it a week earlier, they're going against both night of the Elite Eight. The NCAA owns March and the first few days of April, Mania would get crushed. If they were to go to 2 nights, they'd have to push Mania back a week.

It was a very good show, but the two cinematic matches are the only ones I can see myself rewatching. I find the whole empty PC setup really weird now.

It's weird looking back on their respective years to think Aleistar Black beat Lashley clean at the event!
Lashley's only suffered one TV loss since, and that was to Drew!

I've never thought about something from only months ago as being "in retrospect" but I guess it technically is the past. Personally I think a thread about this year's Mania will be way more interesting in a few years after life has been back to normal for awhile, or at least as normal as it's going to.
