Sid was addressing Kevin Nash AND Scott Hall, who are two people each of whom has their own brain. As Sid only has one brain himself, he really did have half the brains that they did.

Oh, I thought this was going to be the "We're live, pal" promo.

Did Sid himself once make this argument in a shoot interview? Or at least say something like "that was how it was scripted"?

Did Sid himself once make this argument in a shoot interview? Or at least say something like "that was how it was scripted"? Believe he said it was scripted and supposed to lead to something. But Sid says a lot of crazy things in interviews. For instance, he didn’t know he main evented Mania 8 with Hogan. He thought it was a house show. Which raises a ton of questions, like why did he think so many people were there? The cameras? The WrestleMania banners? The pyro? The interview he did with that little bald headed oaf Okerlund?? If I didn’t hear him say it, I’d swear someone made it up.

I’ve never been too sure of Sid’s ‘real life’ self-awareness, but does he not realise that saying he didn’t know he headlined WM8 - despite the very reasons you mentioned here - just makes him look stupid? Hell, if I headlined the lowest of the low level indie show I think I’d remember!

I saw Sid at an autograph convention a few years back. Seeing him there makes me understand that he probably wouldn't know one event from the other. He is a very low key guy from the way he dresses (blue and red colorful windbreaker that looks like one he's had since the 80s and always a checkered shirt with jeans) to the way he handles himself. He is totally with it but at the same time it seemed like he had to be led through the motions by the guy helping him do the signing. Like if a fan had an item to be signed the guy would tell Sid, "this one's an autograph" and Sid would sign and if it was a photo the guy would say "photo op." It just seemed a lot different than how guys normally are. Like most signers are with it and understand what's going on without having to be led through the signing. Don't get me wrong, Sid was great and I very respectful to the fans and legends but based on what I saw I get him not knowing Wrestlemania. On the other hand, I think if he got a HOF induction he would come out to a lot of cheers and totally be "ON" and like normal 1990s intense Sid. I bet when he does softball he's just a regular guy and you wouldn't know he was a star based on how he carries himself. Based on his look you might think he was an athlete if you didn't already know him.

Yeah he made the point in a shoot that he was specifically told to say it and his argument was how would making me look stupid lead to anything? But whoever gave him the promo (forget if it was Russo, Ferrera, or someone else) kept saying it was gonna be great so he just said the line
