So which one of these direct to video sequels do you prefer. Return of Jafar or Cinderella III: a Twist In Time?
Two of the better DTV sequels in its history in my opinion. Besides that point, similar stories here, about redemption and second chances.
In terms of animation and pacing, Cinderella III gets the edge. But Return of Jafar is nothing to sneeze at. And anything Aladdin animated is good.

ROJ by default, as it's the only one I watched?
Yes it's a glorified pilot to the TDA Aladdin series, but I remember it having rewatch value in my house.

Not only will I say that A Twist in Time is better then Return of Jafar, but I'm also saying that King of Thieves is better then Return of Jafar.

I have fond memories of Return of Jafar. There used to be a poster for it in French class and I so badly wanted it. Finally got to take it home before I left French for good.

I loved Return of Jafar as a kid, that video was in rewatch constantly. Tried to watch it with my daughters and it just doesn’t hold up in the slightest. Still loved it though, so that’s my choice.

I give it to Cinderella 3 because, honestly, the drop in animation quality between Aladdin and Return of Jafar (while understandable) was/is jarring & brutal.
Plus they did that crazy plot with Cinderella. I mean.........really, who thought that was even a possibility.

I'll say Cinderella 3. It does at least feel like there's life to it, definitely compared to the first attempt at a sequel/series concept. they give the prince a bit more of a personality, Cinderella gets a bit more personality, they do a better job in developing Anastasia to be more likable in comparison to Drizella and Tremaine (honestly the only salvageable part of Cinderella 2 was the Anastasia/Baker story), the story does flow pretty well and it's actually a fun time.
Return of Jafar is fine, but just feels off. From the TV animation, to losing Robin as Genie (Dan Castellaneta is fine) to just really dragging for the most part, to the biggest sin, giving Gilbert Gottfried two songs. King of Thieves is a far better sequel that does feel like a satisfying enough finale.

Plus they did that crazy plot with Cinderella. I mean.........really, who thought that was even a possibility. Not to mention the casting. Cinderella a classic Disney princess voiced by Jennifer Hale. Jennifer Hale someone I associate with a lot of bad ass no nonsense characters the voice of Cinderella who in this movie gets to do some of that stuff.

Off topic kind of, thinking about Jennifer Hale and Cinderella. You know what I think would be cool, if the Hex Girls starred in a Cinderella play. Thorn could play Cindi herself. Luna and Dusk could play the step sisters. It would be fun, like that time Jem and the Holograms starred in that Beauty and the Beast, so if they can do it, so can the Hex Girls.
I don't know what the rest of the cast would be, probably just actors, maybe Scooby could play the fairy god mother. I wonder if Warner Brothers could get away with something meta like that using Jennifer to play a Cinderella for them, even though it is a character within a character.
