WWE are so desperate for ratings they're trying the soap opera TUNE IN NEXT WEEK approach to try and get fans interested
Problem is, I almost guarantee you RAW opens up completely normal next week and doesn't immediately follow up on this, and even if they do, you know it isn't gonna be interesting.

The ol' Walking Dead finale POV cliffhanger shot.
Orton better not go back to normal dude for like 5 years minimum he needs to go full on supernatural after setting multiple people on fire like this.
Have him go into the void of the Funhouse and rescue John Cena's soul from there only to set him on fire too but Big Match John is immune to fire now or whatever. Yes I am giving WWE directive on how to build to a new Orton vs. Cena match.

That was certainly an ending. Yeah. A really f***ing godawful, pathetic, soul-destroying, head-hurting, mind-boggling, bullshit ending. And that's putting it mildly.

Pouring the gas on herself reminds me of that insane promo when Terry Funk covered himself in motor oil and sand/dirt.

I think it's kind of too cartoonish to be offended by it but it is really weird they'd follow Brodie with Orton immediately killing somebody, especially when they already got into hot water on that shit before when Orton killed Taker on the Eddie tribute show.

So it doesn’t matter what the f*** WWE do. You don’t expect the outcome to be good, so the ending is automatically bad because you expect the outcome to be bad. This is the uphill battle WWE face in any attempt to try and turn their programming around, this snap reaction that has been born off of years of goodwill being flushed down the toilet week after week. There’s none left to flush. Bowl’s empty, like. I get it, but WWE trying a cliffhanger isn’t inherently of itself a bad thing.

I'm more worried about the fact no one tried to stop this, no security, no staff, no talent, none of the higher ups have any issue with Orton about to set Bliss on fire. Commentary yells "DON'T DO THIS" like they're trapped in a cage
Like I get it's a storyline, but this is the same issue I had with Owens getting beat down by Jey and Roman constantly. Does NO ONE give a shit to even try and stop it? Come on now...

I think we’re just used to wrestling cliffhangers in the vein of “guy knocked out by mystery assailant” or “face aligns himself with heel in a shocking manner”.

I'm more into it than not, though I do figure they'll probably immediately undercut it with a Hogan promo or something starting the show next week instead of immediately following through. Though really it'll kind of already be undercut regardless by SmackDown happening in between so whatever.
Despite the billion logical failings in the idea I really don't mind. Orton tries to kill people all the time, this isn't really anything new, and at least Alexa actively asking for it was an interesting twist on things.

Maybe I’m being too sensitive, but I thought it was bullshit they’d pull these antics the day or two after somebody died. Total BS.

I'd love to be proven wrong, I sure as heck would love it to pay off because of how bad WWE's long term booking actively has been the last few years. There's nothing wrong with trying it, it's just the other issue entirely of execution. It would be nice if it succeeds, I'm just not tethering my expectations so if it's a dead duck, I'm not let down. It should also go without saying, it's great people actively got excited about this, I'm not putting down anyone who genuinely is excited for next week, I just wish as you said, WWE hadn't flushed all this goodwill down the drain that I'm just begging them to surprise me.

With everything going on today about a wrestler's death, they couldn't move the murder angle to next week? Wow.

I thought it was cool. We’re already dealing with a story involving a teleporting demon clown I can suspend my disbelief further
