and anything else is to be fair masi had an INCREDIBLY TOUGH DECISION to make he will have to live by it so unfortunate, but that's life in the big racing leagues ... if it was ME in that situation, i wouldn't allow teams to influence me at all, that should go ... but follow the rules whether first five laps of the first race of the season, or what just happened there EGO decided the outcome! i rest my case just don't hire me as your lawyer any time soon eh

Gotta put in a good word for Carlos Sainz, too. His third place today means he places 5th overall in the championship, ahead of his much-more fancied teammate Charles Leclerc and best of the non-Mercedes/Red Bull drivers.
A good improvement as a whole for Ferrari after their abysmal 2020 season, probably the biggest of any team in the field. Aston Martin, meanwhile, went the other way compared to last season (when they were Racing Point).

Trying to look up the exactly Appeal rules, and get a screen that redirects to FIA's facebook. Methinks the FIA got DDOS'd

Don’t think any result will be overturned. It’s like a bad referee/umpire call… it’s shit, but you can’t change it now.
One thing should definitely be done is the FIA need to find a new race director for next season and beyond… Mass has made too many bad calls this season that’s put into question several race results, no results, and worst there were times his calls have endangered the safety of the drivers.

Like I said before, Masi was damned if he did, damned if he didn’t. By all rights, he probably should’ve enforced that lucky dog rule to the letter of the law, and if it weren’t going to literally decide who was going to be the champion of the world, he would have, I’m certain of it. But then, as they were already doing judging by the audio during the Safety Car, he would’ve have Red Bull blowing up in his ear and fans would’ve been all like “Oh, the guy that wins all the time won again” and “Why not use common sense and *insert what they actually did here*”, and the greatest season in years would’ve ended as a wet fart, Verstappen never having really been in the contest in this last race.
It’s the eternal debate for all sports, isn’t it? Do you want referees and people in similar roles to rule black-and-white by the letter of the laws of their specific game, even if it leads to unpopular or underwhelming outcomes? Or do you want them to have the flexibility and common sense to work within those rules and apply them differently if it lets the players play and it ends up being a better sporting spectacle?

unless they FREEZE the lap counter for safety cars and update the tracks so that whenever possible run-off areas are similar to the track layout ...
