I swear they were building toward an Eve Torres/Jack Swagger storyline in late 2009 and it was dropped after like 2 weeks.
The guest host era of Raw had a lot of "blink of an eye and you missed it" stuff like that.

Before WCW settled on "Where the big boys play", it seemed like Schiavone and Heenan were constantly throwing out random taglines during broadcasts, as if there was a contest for who could come up with the best tagline. There were 4-5 different ones that they repeated more than once, but some of them were like: "WCW: What the world is watching NOW." "WCW: Where the stars are." "WCW coming alive in '95." I also remember Tony throwing out "wrestling is cool again!" around late '93/early '94.

It's not "weird", but this thread may be the best fit: It's constantly claimed in interviews and reviews of the incident that Owen Hart performing the Belly to Belly Piledriver on Austin the way he did was a one-and-done idea, but I remember it almost being a staple of Owen's offense and he for sure wasn't the only one doing it that way (the Steiner Screwdriver is a much freakier version of the same variant). So what was the big deal about it? It's quite uncommon, sure, but I don't see how it would put the opponent in more danger than a standard Piledriver.

I think the whole problem was that Austin was assuming tombstone Owen allegedly told him multiple times that, no, he'd sit down doing it, but Austin wouldn't believe it. But even if Austin expected a Tombstone: Wouldn't have Owen grabbed him even lower for that because the impact of a Tombstone usually is a bit higher above the floor? I don't see the big difference in preperation for Austin.

I swear there was an episode of Heat circa 98/99 where they were experiencing transmission difficulties so the only thing on the screen was the Heat logo as commentary continued to cover the action.
It was like listening to a radio broadcast of Heat but on TV. Super strange.
Update: It was real! It was the February 28, 1999 episode.

I remember Chris Benoit headbutting Stephanie one week and the next show they crossed paths backstage. He asked her in a heelish manner, “How’s your head?” Stephanie gave him a vicious slap in the face and Chris snaps his neck back like a rubber band and looks back at her again with an evil grin before walking off.

Marty Scrulls was last seen in ROH on the phone with Danhausen saying if he sold enough Ring of Hausen shirts he would be able to get a contract.

Probably because he broke Masahiro Chono's neck with the same exact move

I was watching the August 1st, 1999 edition of Sunday Night Heat and it has alot of awkward stuff worth mentioning.
Meat being PMS(Terri Runnels and Jacqueline) whipping boy, with him kissing Terri's feet after he lost his match to Edge as an apology.
Albert touches Marianna(Chaz's girlfriends) ass to set up a match later in the show.
Key interfering in that match.
Steve Blackman beating up Mideon with numchucks for no reason(the match didn't even get started).
Hardcore Holly randomly coming out and attacking an already fallen Acolytes and tries to impress The Undertaker and Big Show(this was after they lost by DQ to them).
Attitude Era had alot of stuff in there I forgot, and I was a full-blown mark at that time.

He was an associate of Droz and Albert and if rumors are true he was supposed to be their drug dealer and Key was short for Kilo.

Steve Blackman beating up Mideon with numchucks for no reason(the match didn't even get started). This is hilarious to me. Like just returning from a commercial, and there's some footage of Steve Blackman using nunchucks on Mideon with no context, and it's never mentioned again afterwards.

Not on a wrestling show, but on a cartoon that is wrestling-related. I'm sure some here remember Kablam! There was one commercial where the two main stars(Henry and June) were at a wrestling event(they didn't show the ring, I don't think, but they were part of the crowd in stadium) and told us they were about to see "Greenberg" fight "Red Hot" Sam Houston. This was in 1998 with wrestling as a whole being popular.
Does anybody here besides me remember it? I could've sworn that happen.

Remember that Raw after mania 23 when HBK and Cena lost the tag titles? Miz and Johnny Nitro were a team on that battle Royal months before they became an actual tag team

During the "Molly Holly is a Virgin" angle, Christopher Nowinski cut a promo and said something like
"After I put the Dudleys through these tables, I'm gonna burst through something else..... And by that, I mean Molly's HYMEN ha.ha.ha."
These Raws in the early 2000's were wild 💀

Does anybody remember Road Dogg calling Chris Jericho "Y2Gay" shortly after his debut?
Also, I could've sworn I heard on commentary by Vince McMahon during Rocky Maivia's debut match that his real name is Dwayne Johnson. Also, when he was in The Corporation two years later, there was dissention within the group and Mcmahon said to him "You need a reality check...Dwayne!"
