Bringing in Justin Liger and the Great Muta with the NJPW relationship. Those two raised the bar for what was possible in a lot of kids minds. Up to that point it was always the American style with very few of the impact and flying moves that would become so prevalent shortly thereafter.

Guaranteed contracts gave guys security that they don't have with WWE's one sided contracts.
Cruiserweight wrestlers were showcased properly and having a knowledgeable announcer like tenay calling the moves and explaining the backstory for the Mexican and Japanese wrestlers so American fans would have better understanding of what's going on.
Nitro girls spotlighted women in wrestling without portraying them as skanks in the 90's.

Hell, WCW helped broaden my, and others, wrestling horizons. The fact they had other wrestlers from different promotions on their TV was new. Not only that we saw the AAA America's, IWGP World Heavyweight and Jr. Heavyweight Titles defended on WCW TV.

Goldberg's run up until his first loss was masterfully done. The company dies a lot earlier without that.

Making the most the NJPW deal. WCW really hosed NJPW out of that deal to their benefit TBH. Thags a great business move

The blue and yellow ring with the WCW logo in the center. WWF experimented with putting on logo on the mat at Mania 12. Bret hated, so Vince never did it again

I always loved the way their ring sounded and could never figure out how they got it to sound like that. Something to do with the mostly wooden construction, I think. Always loved the sound, and tried to replicate it when modifying my toy rings as a kid.

David Flair, Daffney, and Crowbar being way more compelling than they had any right to be.

I think a lot of people sleep on how good it was at points in the early nineties, before Hogan arrived and lashed everything up.
The production was great. I always loved the cameramen on the apron and close-ups on wrestlers during their entrances.
And obviously the cruiserweight division was great.

Even without changing sets, they did a great job making each show look different from each other. WWF at the time seemed to do everything they could to make every arena look the same. It felt like you knew where Nitro was and they embraced the differences.

Dusty Rhodes on commentary. Part of the reason I love going back and watching old PPV’s is for the crazy stuff Dusty would say and the way he played off the other announcers

Goldberg's run up until his first loss was masterfully done. The company dies a lot earlier without that. Came in to post exactly the same. His booking through to winning the title was perfect. Watching the reaction his title win gets still gives me goosebumps.

Goldberg's run up until his first loss was masterfully done. The company dies a lot earlier without that. The crazy part is that they had two chances to wrap up the nWo shit (Sting at StarCade and Goldberg winning the title) and they managed to keep the nWo going until the bitter end. lol

Thinking outside the box with their stage designs, and their venue choices. Beaches, resorts, malls. Made for great visuals and atmosphere. Yes! Even before covid wwe looked like it was coming from the same place every show.
