52. WarioWare Gold
Been pretty in the mood for the series with Get It Together coming out so felt like playing through Gold's story again, even though just did so last year. Certainly short but a lot of fun as typical for WarioWare, even if the real meat of the game is in the stuff after you finish the story anyway.

21. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
I hadn't played it in more than a couple of months and I had built up a lot of Scott's stats. One of Gideon's forms in the final stage annoyed me, but I managed to beat it. Now I am thinking of going through the game with Ramona, Knives, Kim, Stephen, and Wallace. I did the same with Streets of Rage 4 with the other characters, so why not go through it with the other characters?

53. Spider-Man (PS4)
I'd been meaning to replay it for a long time, took getting a PS5 as a cue to do so (despite still playing the PS4 version). Kind of forgot just how ridiculously grindy the game can be but still a load of fun, very addicting gameplay loop and it does a lot of things very well. There are aspects of the Miles game I think are done better, mostly not being as grindy and not having the jarring interjections where you play as other characters for no reason (not helped by how Miles is largely irrelevant in this game while MJ spends most of her screentime being a reckless idiot), but this does definitely feel more like the complete package and just has a ton of things to love it for. Probably won't be waiting nearly as long before the next time I do a playthrough of it.

54. WarioWare: Get It Together
Of course just referring to finishing the main story in that, stories in WarioWare games are always very short and all. Lot of fun though some of the endgame microgames can be kind of frustratingly laid out. Very much would recommend it based on what I've played so far though, definitely captures that WarioWare spirit despite the new mechanics.

- Game I haven't beaten in 2021 because it's so infuriating
Project Zero (Xbox OG, physical)
The spooks and atmosphere are fantastic, I feel tense the entire way through. Voice acting isn't the greatest but it's an early-2000s game,it's to be expected. The controls suck ass. You get constantly stuck on absolutely nothing, or you get stuck on a step or a lamp that has far too big a hitbox. I'm stuck on the final Blinded of night 2 in the demon pit with a sliver of health because the folklorist was complete bullshit before hand but I saved after beating him so I didn't have to deal with him again. I'm supposed to stay still, she teleports into the wall behind me and gets me that way. If I flip around, the camera can't recognise she's there. If I try to move out her way, something invisible will stop my ability to move. There's no health left to grab. I was really enjoying the game but I've now found myself stuck in a loop where I can't progress, so I'm tapping out. I don't like to tap out on games often, but I can not get past this.

Took me less time and effort to beat X2 than X1, especially the X-Hunter Stages. I died several times on the first stage with the moving walls that give you an instant death, but then I didn't die once on the other stages. Either I'm getting really good at Mega Man games, or X2 is easier than X1.

55. The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve
This one was more like it. I did pretty often kind of find myself putting it off over lingering frustrations with the first game but I feel like most of my big complaints with it are addressed early in and I'd say pound for pound each case is stronger than its counterpart in the first game other than maaaaybe the third case. Just a much stronger product on the whole and I'll grant that as much as the first game frustrated me you couldn't have done this as a standalone.
I think my biggest issue with it is that if you're going to do a mystery spanning across two games, I probably shouldn't be able to guess who the main villain is from literally their first scene?

56. Paper Mario
Always a lot of fun, one of those games I've played through many times and will likely play through many more. I don't like it quite as much as the sequel (or Super Mario RPG for that matter) but I do still really love it and would be absolutely thrilled to have it available in some form on the Switch.

1. Disco Elysium
Had such a profund impact on me I changed my name without thinking and before I even finished it. Already in my top 5 and possibly my favourite game ever. I finished it two weeks ago and haven't stopped thinking about it and have the soundtrack on repeat. The best written game of all time and its not even close, for me at least. Heartbreaking and confronting it how it holds the mirror to me as a person and how I think.
Absolute genius and true art. If anyone else has played id love to talk about it.

57: Metroid: Samus Returns
Only the third Metroid game I've beaten, after Other M and Super. I've owned it for a long time - first played through Super as kind of a warmup to see if I wanted to pick it up - but kind of just never got in the mood to play it, but finally decided to do so with Dread on the horizon. Really enjoyed it, some frustrating mechanics and things I think there is room for Dread to improve, but glad I finally got around to going through it. Kind of wouldn't mind trying some other Metroid games at some point now, maybe will try Zero Mission or Fusion soon-ish.

Started Witcher 3, got past the first area and met the king, then I just haven’t gotten around to playing more and have gotten back in the groove of watching tv shows or YouTube videos instead of playing games during my gaming time.

58: Metroid Fusion
Was still a Metroid mood so I figured I'd go ahead and finally get around to going through this one while I was at it. I liked it quite a bit but I do think it kind of falls apart toward the end with how it kind of turns into just running through the same areas over and over with most of the endgame just being endless boss fights, a lot of which feel pretty cheap. Still, I had a lot of fun with it. Little tempted to go ahead and do Zero Mission while I'm at it, which would at least bring me to having beaten some form of every 2D Metroid game, but probably won't do that right away.

Finally back with another.
7: Watch Dogs Legion
It’s been kind of sitting around in the background ever since I got the PS5. It’s fine, never really held my attention too much though. With some more new games coming soon I decided to rush this one so I can banish it from the hard drive and free up some space. Annoying series of missions at the end, especially playing them back-to-back-to-back without any goofing around in-between.
3.5 / 5

1: CONTROL 2: Valhalla 3: Repentance 4: REVIII 5: BioMutant 6: Exit The Gungeon 7: Watch Dogs Legion

59: Metroid: Zero Mission
Of the 2D Metroid games I've played through (which as of now is all of them except the original versions of the first two), it's definitely my least favorite. It kind of just feels really aimless and meandering but without any of the things that make that forgivable with Super and there really isn't any challenge to it except how unbelievably poorly put together the Mother Brain fight is. In particular by the end with the segment in the Space Pirates ship I was really just desperate to get the game over with already. I enjoyed it on the whole but it's one I can't ever seen myself revisiting.

23. The Takeover
This is a beat-em-up game that has existed for the past few years but came to PSN sometime this year (I read that a physical copy came to Limited Run Games, but I wasn't going to get that if I had downloaded the game). Not a bad game at all, especially with its graphics and presentation, soundtrack, and gameplay.
