Well.. I'm actually interested to see what happens, which is extremely rare. I liked most of that. Pearce has been great. Cesaro not being around was weird but can easily be explained (they won't bother).

And think about it, from a character standpoint. as soon as Roman doesn't get the upper hand The Tribal Chief moniker loses merit(kayfabe.) Have to keep it going to the climax of the story that hasn't been reached yet.

It's going to end up being Reigns vs KO Yeah, I'm starting to figure that out. But nevertheless it was good tv imo.

I think a good endpoint (whenever that is) has to be the Smackdown roster revolting and getting retribution on Roman by supporting the eventual guy who defeats him.

Roman promo to start of show – Meh Big E. vs. Apollo – 1 thumb down Billie Kay cameo – 1 thumb up Sonya Deville in a suit – 2 thumbs up Street Profits vs. Dolph/Bobby – 1 thumb up Daniel Bryan vs. Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sami Zayn vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Adam Pearce – 2 thumbs up
Just a brief summary of my thoughts on this week's SmackDown. Probably forgot something as the bullet points seem shorter than usual this week but, anyway, here it is.
Overall I'd give this week's show a 7 out of 10 personally. Gauntlet being the biggest highlight for me personally.

Although a Mace vs Roman stare down would be badassery to the max.

Jeez, I knew the Rumble can often be a bit of a slap-up grill in terms of who gets the world title shots, but I doubt anybody had both Goldberg and Adam Pearce pegged for them.

An excellent Smackdown from a wrestling standpoint. A very long but great opening segment with Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Paul Heyman, & Adam Pearce. That wasn’t fair to Big E & Apollo Crews that there match didn’t get any introductions. All Title Matches should have them. The match itself was really good. I didn’t like the Double pin, but I did like the match continuing. I would have love to see a much longer match between them. I love Sonya Deville coming back as Adam Pearce’s assistant. It could lead to something to lead to her return to the ring. Bianca Belair & Bayley’s segment to announce their Rumble Participation was good. But, Carmella’s promo on the other hand was horrible. The Street Profts VS Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler was an awesome match. Even though I said last week, I was tired of their feud, I love them wrestling against each other and want to see them again. Good segment with Adam Pearce & Paul Heyman. But, I don't think Pearce should be wrestling. I hope they don't have 2 old wrestlers wrestling for Championships at the Royal Rumble. The segment with The Riott Squad & Billie Kay was brutal. I love that segment with Sami Zayn losing to Rey Mysterio in seconds after everything he said moments earlier. Rey Mysterio VS Shinsuke Nakamura was really good. It's interesting that they're doing Nakamura VS King Corbin, since it's very rare they do Heel VS Heel Matches, which turned out to be really good. Amazing segment between Daniel Bryan & Nakamura. People always complain about the lazy booking of a Gauntlet Match, but the wrestling is always excellent. Nakamura VS Adam Pearce was horrible. Good thing I love the Royal Rumble PPV for the Royal Rumble Matches & not the Championship Matches, as no one wants to see either the WWE or Universal Title Matches. Having a 54 year old competing for the WWE Title & an agent who hasn’t wrestled in 7 years competing for the Universal Title is a slap in the face to every wrestler that bust their ass week in & week out. 205 Live was great. Ashante Adonis VS Ariya Daivari was a fun match. I love that they will do the Dusty Rhodes Classic on 205 Live. I hope it brings viewers to 205 Live that normally wouldn’t watch it. August Grey & Curt Stallion VS The Bollywood Boyz was an excellent match.
SMACKDOWN • Big E VS Apollo Crews was the 1st Intercontinental Championship Match of 2021, was Big E & Crews’s 2nd week in a row on Smackdown, & E was the 1st wrestler to wrestle in 3 matches in 2021, was Big E’s 1st Intercontinental Championship Defense, so if he would have lost he would have been the 1st since Braun Strowman who lost to Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber on March 8 to lose in his 1st Defense, & as of Smackdown, Big E’s Intercontinental Championship Reign has lasted 14 Days, so if he would have lost he would have the 3rd Champion after Rob Van Dam (4/3/06 – 5/5/06) & Edge (10/21/01 – 11/5/01) to lose the title in 14 Days • The Street Profits VS Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler was the 1st Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match of 2021, was Dawkins, Ford, Roode, & Ziggler’s 1st Smackdown of 2021, was Dawkins & Ford’s 3rd Smackdown Tag Team Championship Defense, so if they would have lost they would have been the 1st since Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown on October 9, 2020 to lose in their 3rd Defense, as of Smackdown, The Street Profits’ Smackdown Tag Team Championship Reign has lasted 88 Days, so if they would have lost, they would have been the 1st ever Smackdown Tag Team Champions to lose in 88 Days, was the 4th match between them after Smackdown on October 16, 2020, which was won by The Street Profits by Disqualification, November 27, 2020, which was won by Roode & Ziggler, & December 18, 2020, which was won by The Street Profits, so now The Street Profits have won 2 & Roode & Ziggler have won 2, was the 1st Smackdown Tag Team Championship Change of 2021 & the 24th of All-Time, & it marked both Roode & Ziggler’s 3rd Tag Team Championship Reign, their 1st ever Smackdown Tag Title Reign, & their 1st Tag Reign overall since they were #RAW Tag Champs (9/15/19 – 10/14/19) & they are the 8th to be both Raw & Smackdown Tag Team Champions • Daniel Bryan VS King Corbin VS Rey Mysterio VS Shinsuke Nakamura VS Adam Pearce VS Sami Zayn was the 1st Gauntlet Match of 2021, the 60th of All-Time, & 13th on Smackdown & 1st on Smackdown since a Tag Team Gauntlet on March 6, 2020, was Adam Pearce’s Smackdown debut, & his 4th Match in WWE, as he was Adam O’Brien in a Tag loss to the Nation of Domination on Raw on March 31, 1997, a 6-Man Tag Team loss to The Truth Commission on Shotgun Saturday Night on July 5, 1997, & a Singles loss to Tiger Ali Singh on Shotgun Saturday Night on August 30, 1997, was Mysterio’s 1st Smackdown of 2020, Bryan, Corbin, Nakamura, & Zayn’s 2nd week in a row on Smackdown, but Corbin’s 3rd match of 2021, was Bryan, Corbin, Mysterio, Nakamura, & Zayn’s 1st Smackdown main event of 2021 & Corbin was the 1st wrestler of 2021 to go from the Smackdown opener to the following week’s main event, was Bryan’s 7th Gauntlet Match & 1st since Smackdown on March 26, 2019, giving him a Record of 2-5, with his last win taking place on Smackdown on March 19, 2019, Corbin’s 1st ever Gauntlet Match in his Career, giving him a Record of 0-1, Mysterio’s 3rd Gauntlet Match & 1st since Raw on July 29, 2019, giving him a Record of 1-2, with his last win taking place on Raw on March 18, 2004, was Nakamura’s 2nd Gauntlet Match & 1st since Smackdown on March 26, 2019, giving him a Record of 0-2-0, Pearce’s 1st Gauntlet Match in his career, giving him a Record of 0-1-0 & was Zayn’s 2nd Gauntlet Match & 1st since Raw on July 29, 2019, giving him a Record of 0-2-0 • This was the 1st Smackdown of 2021 to not have a Women’s Match
205 LIVE • Ashante Adonis VS Ariya Daivari was Adonis’ 1st 205 Live match & opener of 2021, Daivari’s 2nd week in a row on 205 Live, & his 1st opener of 2021, making him the 1st wrestler of 2021 to go from the 205 Live main event to the following week’s opener, & was their 2nd 1-on-1 Match against each other after 205 Live on September 4, 2020, which was won by Daivari, so they each have won 1 match • August Grey & Curt Stallion VS The Bollywood Boyz was Grey’s 1st 205 Live of 2021, Stallion, Samir & Sunil Singh’s 2nd week in a row on 205 Live, & their 2nd week in row in the 205 Live main event
