What was your favourite to watch. I enjoyed both as a kid as I got to see PPV quality matches for free and it got to showcase some other guys to a wider audience before RAW and Nitro started the Wars and we’re doing this on a weekly basis. On the plus side for the Clash it basically made Sting’s career with time limit draw match with Flair.

SNME
The Main Event (the Friday night spin off) was my first wrestling memory when I was five years old, the night Macho Man turned on Hogan. So it will always have a soft spot in my heart..

Clash all the way. It was longer and had an awesome entrance stage. Like you said, it was PPV quality matches but Clash gave you more matches. Some Clashes matches weren't always PPV quality (Sid/Joey Maggs, Ranger Ross/El Cubano BUT those were the type of lower card PPV matches you would see here and there on WCW PPVs). Late 1991 until the end you would see matches that were usually 100% something you would see on upper mid card, or main event PPVs. I know Mike Graham claims he told Eric Bischoff no more Clashes and he was proud of that but darn it I hated that the Clashes ended. They did one in August 1997 but it just wasn't the same.

I have way more love and nostalgia for Clash Of The Champions. The earliest WCW I can remember vividly watching was Clash of the Champions 24 (British Bulldog vs Vader). I had just started watching wrestling that year
I didn't see SNME until years later, when my dad's coworker randomly happened to have 4-5 VHS worth of old SNME shows he gifted to me (never even met the guy before).

I don’t think I ever saw a SNME live. It started at 10:30 CST and I was a little kid. The Clash usually started at 7:05 so I actually got to watch them.
I’m hindsight, I’m more nostalgic for the Clash because I saw more of them live (including the second to last one in person), but the SNME shows are such a tight action packed program. I give it the nod.

The Clash. There’s just so many great matches from the Clash. The Flair stuff alone is worth the price of admission. His career making match with Sting, the i quit match with Funk, the 2nd match from the Steamboat trilogy. Classic stuff. Him and Arn had a barn burner with the Hollywood Blondes on one clash. There’s a pile of great matches like that. Sting and Rick Rude have a great match on one.

I also liked the unexpectedness of SNME. As a huge Hogan fan growing up never thought I’d ever see him lose a match let alone via count out to the Genius. Only on SNME.

It was awesome seeing Sting body slam both and I liked seeing good guy Flair. I thought for sure he would stay that way forever. LOL.

I still love them vs Funk and Muta. There’s a really good Davey Boy vs Vader match on that clash too.

The Clash seemed to put on better matches generally..... but I remember being a kid and WWE hyped up SMNE so big in the mid to late 80s. They seemed like a MUCH bigger deal than I ever remembering the Clashes being.

I didn't watch either of them while they were active. But going back and watching some of each, I enjoyed SNME way more. #WWFGuy

Clash by far. I can count the number of memorable matches from SNME on one hand.

I looked forward to the Clash of the Champions and recorded every single one in SP speed. After I left my ex-wife she sent me a photo of all my Clash VHS videotapes in the garbage can on the street. I guess she thought she was sticking a dagger through my heart! LOL

SNME was a touch before my time. Still Clash had more to it. SNME seems like it was like RAW post MNW but less frequent so sometimes it was less satisfying to modern day eyes. Doesn't help it went for fewer years

Instead of someone coming out and doing a 20 minute go nowhere promo on RAW, they really should look back at the 80s SNMEs on how to start a show off a hell of a lot more cool.

I grew up on SNME so I had to go with that one, my first memory of SNME was the battle royal before WM3 where Andre eliminates Hogan.

Instead of someone coming out and doing a 20 minute go nowhere promo on RAW, they really should look back at the 80s SNMEs on how to start a show off a hell of a lot more cool. IIRC the first match on the October 1987 show was Hogan v. Sika and maybe even Hogan v. Nikolai for the first or second show as the first match. Obviously the ending of the 1987 show needed Hogan saving Macho for the storyline but still cool to see a main event match first.

In retrospect, I feel like WCW placed a bit more importance and emphasis on the Clash than the WWF did with SNME. Not by some wide margin, mind you, but the Clashes felt like a slightly bigger deal. It was basically like getting a PPV for free. And while SNME did have some big matches, I never felt like most of them were PPV-calibre.

I liked how SNME had a central theme. And how, even after Hogan had his match, they'd keep pushing one more appearance for the end. "Look, even we'll admit the rest of this show is trash, but stay tuned for a talk with HULLLLLLLLK HOOOOGANNNNN!"
I liked the Clashes too. As was said, it was like a quarterly PPV you'd get to see for "free" (if you had cable).
