Every time I think I've heard all of the shitty things Vince McMahon has done, something else crops up.
Poor Lita. She didn't deserve any of the crap she had to put up with during her last few years in the company.

It amazes me that she actually ever came back if this is something she went through.

It amazes me that she actually ever came back if this is something she went through. Like I said, the WWE is where the money is. For all the indie dates or convention appearances she could do, none of them can make as much difference as quickly as a Vince paycheck. And when it's the only paycheck, it's easy to see why people are quick to yield.

Lita deserved better than being treated this way, they threw Matt under the Edge bus pretty hard, but it's easy to forget how Lita was dragged behind it and pelted with rotten fruit by the baying mobs, with the WWE egging the crowds on. I understand why she went back, I won't bedgudge her a payday and taking the chance to wipe the slate clean in the minds of fans, I'm glad that sh*tty angle and the humiliation that followed won't be what she's remembered for.
If only a powerful supporter of women's wrestling was working as Senior Vice President of Creative Writing in 2006, they could have used their position of influence to try to stop Vince doing things like this to female performers.

And in spite of Vince, there's a lot of camaraderie within the wrestling family. I guess that makes it easier to deal with pondscum like Vince.

I was thinking because the boob shot in the actual angle... but jeezum. Believe she’s also said they insisted she actually take her bra off. I believe she suggested just hiding one and throwing it out and they said no.

Lita’s treatment in the last couple of years of her WWE run was f***ing gross. She cheated on Matt and that sucks but how about Edge who cheated on his wife and it ended up making his career?
This woman had fans stop her on the street to call her a slut and then on TV they made her out to be the biggest whore. Her “send off” was Cryme Tyme selling off her items while just a couple months prior they gave Trish a fairytale ending.
So much double standards here and it’s no surprise that Vince and co. are scum.

I remember being on this very board when she had her last show in the WWE and how shocked most of us were on how brutally she was being sent off

It wasn't just "the last few years she was there" that they treated her like shit. Read her book. They had her doing the swimsuit shoots that she was never comfortable with, the whole angle with Malenko, but especially forcing her to do a lingerie show at WWF New York, which was not only tasteless, but made zero sense for the story and was just an excuse to objectify her.
When she and Matt became a couple on-air, they spoke up about having to do the big kiss every show, because it would get old. So instead, they had Rikishi give Lita a Stink Face.
Doing the Team Xtreme breakup angle in late-2001 that they were all against and having her take a scary bump off the stage, that even the guy throwing her (Undertaker) had reservations about.
Then of course there's her "brilliant" booking in 2004, with the pregnancy bullshit, which, despite giving us Gene Snitsky and the awesome Trish/Lita main event, was a disgrace. And the aforementioned run with Edge and her retirement. They treated her like crap most of the time she was there. And I'm sure she's not the only woman who was treated that way. Just one of the only ones to speak up.

Vince McMahon is an abusive scumbag and the world will be better off once he's gone, I just wish he'd get his just desserts and lose everything before it happens.

"I remember it just kind of trickled down from girl to girl. Everybody kind of went through that. Even though it’s awkward to do, it was just part of my job. There was no intimacy, we didn’t think of it like we’re actresses and we’re going to win an Emmy nomination or something. We’re young and we’re dumb and we’re innocent, and we’re happy to be working. That’s just part of it." - Candice Michelle on having to kiss Vince McMahon. If he wasn't the owner of the WWE, people would be calling this kind of behavior predatory, but it's not because Steve Austin versus Bret Hart was amazing.

When I met Lita, she was very quiet. She was very nice, but very quiet. I did wonder if people brought up those memories, which she didn't need to have. Trish was a few tables away, and talked to me, like she'd known me forever. She may be Lita's "safe person", and that day, they weren't at the same table. I'm happy that they do have each other, though. Firing her for being uncomfortable, is extreme. Depending on what year it was, if it wasn't long after her retirement, she as said that she went through a period where she was kind of distance from her wrestling days because of this, and she had to re-find herself because she said at a time she didn't know who she was anymore. It sounded she was depressed and hated the wrestling and fans for all the stuff been said to her and how she was treated. Which is understandable because as said above, she was thrown under the bus and fans went from loving her to making her the worst human on earth very quickly, she said the locker room was the same for a while outside of Trish. Yes what happened was a mistake and it was her personal life that got exposed. But Edge got pushed for it really and he just as guilty of it. They where young and mistakes happen when. To note that stream can't be found to replayed like her others. I get why because she likely saw the news sites reporting it. Just one of the only ones to speak up. This is true, she said that angle with the baby was so strange and she hated the whole doing that scene in the hospital because they legit filmed it in a real hospital. This was from the same stream.

I hate adultery as much as anyone but I do not see what her personal life has to do with her professional life.

I hate adultery as much as anyone but I do not see what her personal life has to do with her professional life. Pretty much. I've seen plenty of workplace affairs during my career (never partook, mind) and unless its directly affecting the job (particularly if it was management and affected direct reports), no one said anything.

I'll say this about her - she deserves props for her professionalism. As much shit that she had to go through i never got the impression that she hated it on screen especially during her retirement segment with the Cryme Tyme stuff. I can only what her mental health was at the time. To this day i still haven't rewatched SurSer06 because of it because it was a disgraceful way to send her off.
I heard on a podcast a while back that someone met her at a convention during her Luchagors days and they said she was very distant when talking about wrestling and with what she had to go through i'm not surprised.
I'm glad she got the chance to come back over the years and wrestle in some cool matches because that lasting image of her would have sucked.

Just one of the only ones to speak up. I've been meaning to read more wrestling books, definitely plan on giving Lita's one a read if I'm able to find it some day. The stuff about her as well as many other women employed by WWE being uneasy about the objectification is not shocking to me. How many women developed body image problems and/or eating disorders because they were pressured to be in top shape while wearing next to nothing on national TV in an arena in front of tens of thousands of people? And oh maaaaan, do not get me started on that insane Kane is a babyface rapist angle. 2004 is such a bizarre year in wrestling.

People mix up the Vince McMahon character and booker, with Vince McMahon the person. Vince as a character is brilliant. As a booker, he's had flashes of brilliance.
As a person? He's all the worst aspects of a rich businessperson you can think of.

Oh, and by the way, the way fans treated Lita is just another in a long list of reasons why advertisers have fled wrestling shows.
