We are quickly reaching our football finalΓ©. The 8 best of the best NFL teams still in the chase, looking for the promised land of Super Bowl victory. 8 teams representing 8 American cities:
There's New Orleans (New Orleans) Kansas City (Kansas City) Cleveland (Cleveland) Buffalo, N.Y. (Buffalo, N.Y.) Tampa Bay (Tampa Bay) Green Bay (Green Bay) Baltimore (Baltimore) and Los Angeles, that's L.A.
So this weekend, let's stay safe and stay inside, mostly so that we can all continue living in America, but mainly to watch some FOOTBALL!
Saturday, January 16th, 4:35 PM, on FOX #6 Los Angeles Rams at #1 Green Bay Packers
Saturday, January 16th, 8:15 PM, on NBC #5 Baltimore Ravens at #2 Buffalo Bills
Sunday, January 17th, 3:05 PM, on CBS #6 Cleveland Browns at #1 Kansas City Chiefs

Only way Browns is winning this game is if they control the clock, run the ball, and try to not let Mahomes be his usual explosive self
They got a tall task in front of them. If you are down and forced to rely on Mayfield, you are f***ed

Browns aren't consistent enough through 60 minutes to win against a team like the Chiefs.
I say Chiefs 38 Browns 17

Rams, Bills, Chiefs and Bucs win.
Saints lose in the final moment of the game and whine about it.

Packers, Ravens, Chiefs and Saints
Packers/Rams: Two things. Akers took advantage of an asleep-at-the-wheel Seahawks team and made them pay. Second, if Aaron Donald is 100%, which he likely won't be, the MVP is going to feast.
Ravens/Bills: Bills run defense is suspect as hell, and it's been so for almost half a decade. I'm rooting hard for Buffalo, but Jackson, quarterback deficiencies notwithstanding, is going to extend drives throughout the day.
Chiefs/Browns: I suspect the Browns will be in happy-to-be-here mode after what should've been a 40+ point shellacking in Pittsburgh. They'll keep it close through 3 quarters if they keep up with the Chubb/Nunt formula. Anything short of Myles Garrett wreaking havoc still won't help that secondary from getting carved up by Mahomes.
Saints/Buccaneers: The Saints beat the Bucs convincingly in the season opener and shitted on them in the rematch. No reason why it shouldn't happen again. Maybe the Bucs will play it smart and run it more with Fournette, but I don't think Brady will hear any of that. Saints will take advantage of the Bucs' lousy secondary and advance to the NFC Championship with little shenanigans in the way.

My picks went 4-2 last weekend.
- Green Bay 21, Los Angeles 12: NFL Network's Peter Schrager brought up an interesting point on Bill Simmons' podcast this week: despite both being offensive-minded head coaches, Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay have known each other for so long, going back to their days as assistants in Washington, that they could probably scheme up defenses to slow down each other's top-flight offenses. I'm expecting this game to be a tightly-contested slugfest defensively, because the coaching matchup will be the human equivalent of the "Spider-Man pointing" meme.
- Buffalo 27, Baltimore 20: For as well as the Bills played to end the season, they came darn close to laying an egg in their first playoff game last weekend. For Buffalo fans, they better hope that game was the exception, not the rule, because Baltimore appears to be peaking at just the right time. But I still think Buffalo has more talent, top-to-bottom, and I think the Bills defense will force the game into Lamar Jackson's arm rather than his legs, and we've yet to see him win a playoff game that way.
- Kansas City 42, Cleveland 28: It was fun while it lasted, Browns fans. But the reward for shellacking your divisional rivals is a matchup with the best team in the NFL. Kansas City has been lying in the weeds for basically the entire season, and I believe it's because they're bored by the whole affair, waiting to turn it on in January. Of course, there's always the outside possibility that the Chiefs that struggled to win close games over the past two months are actually just the 2020-21 edition of the Chiefs and I've underestimated it, but I don't think an offense that talented, and a team that rolled through the playoffs the way they did last season, is going one-and-done this season.
- Tampa Bay 33, New Orleans 31: Rare is it that a team beats another three times in a season. I'm putting trust in Tom Brady more than anyone else on Tampa Bay's roster or coaching staff here, because if there was literally anyone else at quarterback, I'd pick the Saints. But I can't imagine Tom Brady getting beat three times by the Saints this season, especially considering how New Orleans mollywhopped the Buccaneers in Tampa a few weeks back. I think Brady's laser-focused on getting back to the Super Bowl and he'll drag the Bucs kicking and screaming along with him.

Green Bay (that Rams' defense and Jared Goff do not scare me. Cam Akers does but Green Bay can still overcome that) Buffalo (Lamar Jackson is fool's gold and is getting shut down hard) Cleveland (Chiefs have made way too many slow starts and the Browns are a team that makes precious few mistakes) Tampa Bay (Kamara can't drag the Saints to Lambeau on his own)

Why does everyone think Rodgers is a dick, I really don't get all that. A-Rod don't sugarcoat what he says so it will rub people the wrong way (I tend to do the same thing) A-Rod knows he is good and doesn't humble brag, he's like I know thanks for telling me. I don't think people think he's a dick all around the league but there is probably a few that don't like him but that comes along with being great

Among all the four major American sports, the NFL is the one that is least dictated by one man. But Aaron Donald is such a singular presence that his absence alone totally changes the Rams defense. The Packers just gashed them right up the middle where Donald wouldβve been, and there was nothing Los Angeles could do to stop them.

I don't understand Goff at all. Plays mediocre all year, breaks his thumb, and is able to carve up the number 1 seed in the snow.
