I never knew where to go the first time you reach the Dark World in Link to the Past and refused to use a guide, so I never got past that point until I was in my early 30s...

much to my shame ---- I literally don't know what to do, even these days, when I play Metroid Prime for GameCube
you just fall somewhere randomly where you start with no clues where to go -- I've wasted so many hours trying to figure out where to go

Any Sonic water level. Still cant do them I remember thinking the Marble Zone was a pain in the ass, until I passed it. As for the Labyrinth Zone, that was a pain. Call me a cheater if you must, but the good thing about having the Genesis collections for PS3 and PS4 is that you could manually save the game right where you are and restart it. That's what got me far in Sonic.

Any Sonic water level. Still cant do them Labyrinth Zone is a pain, but Aquatic Ruin Zone from 2 and Hydrocity Zone from 3 weren't that bad. First one if you kept the high path you would avoid the water altogether and the second one there were PLENTY of spots going up ramps and loops that eventually led to spots where you actually ran ON water, which was a fun feature that Sonic Adventure would use for a final boss fight. I remember thinking the Marble Zone was a pain in the ass, until I passed it. As for the Labyrinth Zone, that was a pain. Call me a cheater if you must, but the good thing about having the Genesis collections for PS3 and PS4 is that you could manually save the game right where you are and restart it. That's what got me far in Sonic. Alternatively, while I have beaten Sonic 1 a few times without this, in the old Genesis days there was the Debug Code which let you just float through the level as an item thanks to C Button Magic.
