Henry wants Ryback naked. Naked to the bones.

I just edited my post because I found out that Tom Bosley was a World War II veteran. Joke or not doesn't matter.. I mean, it does because it clearly didn’t justify you taking the topic away as wildly as it did. I take military service very seriously. Again, I am not a veteran-I regret not joining a branch of service but I greatly dislike anyone who has made a career out of making fans think they have served the country. John Wayne's career was literally based on fans believing he was a man who served his country. Many of his fellow actors DID serve while he chose not to. Roy Rogers was another one. And if they use age as a reason for nothing service, Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart were as old, or older than both of them.

Not saying it again, move on from it. Ok, done. But you're the one who brought up Tom Bosley and Amos Tupper. I was just replying to the real life situation that Bosley was a real life U.S. veteran while John Wayne was not.

I don't know if that's WHY he said that... but he recently said both... Probably a partial coincidence but if they’re that linked together...wow... I assume Twitter probably gave him some sort of warning for it and his brain worked very hard to connect both things

Mark Henry seems like a very decent man who, many years ago, was hazed into internalizing some very f***ed-up things. Considering he got that lucrative 10 year contract right out the gate and was very green, I don't doubt he was on the wrong end of some very nasty stuff throughout his career from coworkers and management alike. Considering Henry has turned around to say how he was "too sensitive" back then and how much he respects bullies like Bradshaw today, I don't like to think about the f***ed up mindgames that go on in that company.

I thought it was a 20 year contract and didn't he get a turd sandwich at some point? I feel like a guy like Henry was a Jim Ross guy who he wound up signing and maybe that's one of the reasons Jim was so disrespected. I could be wrong but I think guys with a good sports background were usually signed by Ross. With Henry I guess it's a case of munchausen syndrome in letting go all that he had to deal with in WWF.

"A producer came over to me and said “good luck working that fat piece of shit”
This is a part I don't believe, because aside from Henry being a thousand times better in the ring than Ryback, I can't imagine anyone in potential hearing range calling Henry a fat piece of shit. Not unless it was a time traveling Shawn Michaels from 1996 or something.
That said, being that angry about it being called fake when you work for the company that sold a t-shirt saying as much is bizarre.
Both lose this one.

Like, never mind that, he was around the company at a time when the head booker wrote storylines involving people saying it's fake. The company had a shoot interview series with Jeff Jarrett when his contract expired at WCW. Not even a "man, I came back to make a name for myself", an actual "WCW treated me like shit, I had to deal with politics" interview. And this was at the same time as all of Mark Henry's storyline bullshit.

I’m not sure how some of these guys are still getting offended by the “wrestling is fake” talk when the mainstream wrestling companies damn near tell you as much on their programming. Also this hardly a situation where an "outsider" is questioning the legitimacy of wrestling in a high kayfabe era - like Beltzer and Hogan for example. It's someone who's been in the business and put in the road mileage in an era where the cat is long out of the bag. Why would Henry take offence against it? This is more on Henry than Ryback.

I spent 6 months on the indies before a career ending neck injury. I cannot speak for Mark Henry’s experiences, but it is HIGHLY frowned upon to sleep backstage. It falls into that same old school rule zone as always shaking everyone’s hand. Sabu caught heat for napping backstage in wwe. That’s a real thing. So for Mark to brag about napping even in Gorilla has me questioning his attitude. I listen to busted open occasionally and it has turned me against him, Bully Ray and sometimes Tommy Dreamer more so than entertain me.

Henry was a veteran by that point and probably someone considered a locker room leader, whether he lead or not is beyond the point. He was just a guy who had been around a decade or more, put up with the awful storylines, paid the dues and earned respect. I highly doubt anyone would say anything bad about him especially if they are a lower level employee. Their days would be numbered with hazing and a conviction in wrestler's court.

Ryback was completely in the right about what he said. I was around the indy scene for a while and the opinion was always that "belts are props and nobody ever 'wins' anything" Facts don't care about Mark Henry's sensitive little feelings. Belts are macguffins not merely props, and if they don't understand that or the kayfabe value at least of wins and losses, that might explain why indy wrestling has been so frequently associated with flippy floppy spotfest shit.

Kind of a shocking number of Ryback defenders here. Weird, did not expect that for some reason. I think it's less defending Ryback, & more mentioning the fact that both him & Henry are dicks.
