So we're all in agreement that RE:Verse looks like shit, right? Cause it does indeed look like shit.
I get that every company hopes they'll make the next Fortnight, PUBG, Apex but who are the RE multiplayer games even for at this point?
I'm one of three people that was hopful for Operation: Raccoon City but that was a disaster, Umbrella Corps was worse, and despite some fanfare REsistance was immediately abandoned by Capcom.
I get that an Outbreak style game is too niche to be made today. But why not just make a multiplayer version of Mercenaries at this point? Give players multiple maps, loosen up the combat to make it faster paced, and occasionally throw in in player controlled boss monster.
I was fine with the REmake 3 despite the missing content, and honestly might like it a little better than 2 in some places. The biggest issue for me was just the price point. It should have been no more than $40.

Glad to hear the RE4 remake's been delayed because yeah, if you're remaking that game you need to nail it. I can see areas where you could improve it but if you were to cut down on a bunch of the set pieces and make like the entire thing be the village and the sewer area of the castle then you would be losing a gigantic chunk of the game's appeal. So much of what makes it fun is how it starts out all tense and then just gradually gets dumber and dumber.
All you had to do was keep everything the same from RE2 as far as the engine and setting is concerned and just retune the mechanics and put up a good enough storyline
Wasn't that the original RE3 though?
Pretty much, yeah. Code: Veronica was originally planned to be RE3 and RE3 was supposed to be a spinoff of RE2. Capcom figured that it made more sense that the game using the same engine, assets, and setting should be the direct sequel and the game being built from the ground up should be the spinoff.
