I always like in the original film (and this one too) when the second robot comes out one of the scientists is wearing a sling where the first one shot him.

I hope Capcom plans to remake Code Veronica. I just recently got into Resident Evil. I feel so late to the party. Speaking as somebody who is also late to it, if you weren't arriving after the remakes started you were wasting your time anyway. Some of those older games, if you weren't there at the time, are f***ing unplayable now. I am pretty hyped for this new one, but demos don't really mean shit - I really hope this is a good one. I thought RE3make wasn't anywhere near as good as RE2make was. This looks good but is anyone else in a constant state of paranoia with RE games and is always left thinking: "Okay, the series has been good for far too long. It's only a matter of time until they f*** it up again." Or is that just me? It's probably me. I assumed this was the whole part of being in the fandom, but given RE5 was fun-to-play horseshit after RE4's game-changer, I'm generally expecting RE8 to be basically a new RE5 - just some of the best bits of RE7 mashed into a bunch of lore nobody asked for to link into the old games!

I have the remake of Resident Evil 3 but haven't played it yet. I shall see for myself, because I hear people are mixed about it. I also have been telling myself to get Resident Evil Origins Collection, which has the remake of the first game and also Zero.

RE3 is a good remake, imo. The 'missing' section is quite small. What has annoyed most people is that it's obvious that the online bit was shoe-horned in at the expense of extra modes/DLC like what we got with the remake of 2. You don't even have to download it, it's completely separate. 3 is a fundamentally smaller game anyway so the loss of the extra modes really affects it.

Having not played the original RE2 and RE3, I didn't know what was actually missing from it - it was simply a shorter game with less in it than RE2, my playthrough took way less time, and it just wasn't as fun.
I think that's more a decline in quality between the original two games rather than the remake being poorer quality itself.

They've been through a lot. Being a survival horror fan is about accepting that life is cruel and unfair.

The thing about those is that I'm better off playing the original PS2 versions of 2 and 3, because I had heard my share of stories about the HD collection. Also, this should be added to the list:

Downpour too if you're will to put up with bad frame rate.

Hey, we're talking about shitty horror sequels? How about how the only at all worthwhile Corpse Party game is Blood Covered and both Book of Shadows and Blood Drive are complete shit as are the spinoffs and all adaptations, while Dead Patient will never come out?

While not a "survival horror" per se, what ever happened to the Fear Effect Remaster. I occasionally remember that it was even announced three years ago with a teaser trailer and everything but the closest thing I can find to its apparent existence is the official Twitter account posting art work over a year ago.
