Holloway, Stipe, Nunez etc have literally made people look stupid in the ring but Dana doesn't market well if you're not a Golden child Jones has no personality. Ronda had no personality. You don't have to be a coke fiend like Liddell to sell out but Dana is horrendous at marketing the fighters Nunes is the one that bothers me the most. Utterly dominant, knocks chicks out for fun, has a bit of personality, the LGBQT angle. And nothing. Cause Dana is a f***ing clown You literally market her as the greatest womens fighter in MMA history. She put Ronda in retirement and sent Cyborg packing. You don't worry about who she is fighting, only that her fight can be over in 10 seconds if she trying to hurt you

Rogan without question is prone to big hyperbole but he believes what he is saying or more importantly he gets the viewer to believe it The stuff with Ronda bored on comical like him almost crying when he was interviewing her but it helps because it sells her like a big deal even more then the W did

I admittedly enjoy technique and craftiness. It is why Mayweather is my favorite boxer. It's called boxing not fighting when people try to say he doesn't scrap enough I’ll quote and agree with this take every single time I see it. The man is a defensive wizard, it’s fascinating to watch him work his magic, and I’ll loudly disagree with anyone who calls him “boring.” The man is a wizard in the ring Perfected his craft and makes you look foolish. If he wanted to throw his hands he could but why? The man is still going shut you out 12-0 and put on a defensive master work to put on video tape Look at someone like Ichiro in baseball. They have alway said this man can knock the shit out the ball but he himself has said yes he could hit more homeruns but it would cost him average and that's not what he wants to do

UFC is def over saturated but I wouldn't call the fighters boring I admittedly enjoy technique and craftiness. It is why Mayweather is my favorite boxer. It's called boxing not fighting when people try to say he doesn't scrap enough MMA is a sport of all skills. If a person with great stand up can't do shit on the ground, they shit out of luck and vice versa. Tho in saying all that, Dana has lowered his standards on the quality of a fighter. The Punk horrendous experiment, why the f** is Greg Hardy getting fights, etc Because sizzle sells, they have very few guys with sizzle. You can be the greatest, if you have the personality of a soggy potato you don't sell. I'm not a hardcore fan so the lack of sizzle is something I notice. I think that's the biggest issue I have with UFC. They market the ***holes and their skilled fighters they don't market them or show their backstories to get fans invested in them. Instead Dana relies on Conor and Jones committing felonies to get them press.

Utterly dominant, knocks chicks out for fun, has a bit of personality, the LGBQT angle. And nothing. I think Dana's biggest problem is he gets so spiteful with fighters. He was miserable when he had to put the title belt around Holly Holm's waist. Not only did she beat his great love Ronda, but she humilated Ronda in the process. But in his mind, he knew he had the rematch and the money he could make from that was going to be huge. But then Holly doesn't want to wait around for Ronda to finally be ready. So she fights Miesha Tate, who then shocks the world. Now Dana is really mad, but he can still salvage it because he can sell a 3rd Ronda-Miesha fight especially with the new added wrinkle of Miesha being champion. Then Nunes comes along and destroys all of that. So now, in Dana's mind, Amanda Nunes is the woman that destroyed his life. All he feels he can do is hype the fight around Ronda's return and barely even mention Nunes. He was so enamored with Ronda that he doesn't even realize he was gifted a fighter like Amanda Nunes. He does this with Stipe too. He's a great, blue collar guy that appeals perfectly to the demographic the UFC wants and Dana does nothing with him. Mighty Mouse could have led to gaining more of a following via Twitch and services like that and Dana loathed him so much he shipped him out the first chance he could for an overhyped Ben Askren that totally flopped in the UFC. If you don't do it Dana's way or if you somehow cross him, then he doesn't care about you at all. A comparison with Vince is fair, but at least Vince had a good 30 years of making huge stars and building a global brand. Dana had maybe a good decade and at least Vince has a good streaming service, meanwhile Dana tries to screw the illegal streamers and accidentally kills the ESPN+ feed instead.

Fight Pass should have been SO much more than it is(And much more like the WWE Network). They've got the great fight library and a ton of regional orgs there(my local org just signed on to start streaming on there, for example) but they really should have gone down the WWE route of charging a flat fee(Even if it's 20 bucks a month or whatever) and give access to EVERYTHING! Although I suppose it's hard to say no when The Mouse comes calling for their service.

Although I suppose it's hard to say no when The Mouse comes calling for their service. It's such an incomplete service too. They have a good fight library, but they don't have as much on there or the quality is garbage or the events are incomplete. I bought a year package and cancelled it after 6 months. It's simple greed to not follow the WWE model and just charge a flat fee for everything. It's like they saw WWE make their own PPVs obsolete, so Dana says, great we can charge MORE for our PPVs instead! Keeping Fight Pass around with ESPN+ is also really stupid. Just put it all on ESPN+ and close down Fight Pass. They're asking fans to pay for Fight Pass AND ESPN+ AND pay $70 for a PPV. Fans aren't going to do that in big numbers.

Well f***, Chandler KOing Hooker cost me a 2 cigarette bet and Poirier KOing Conor cost me $40. If it weren’t for the free rips, hoots and beers tonight I’d be very upset

Conor’s post fight feels like a dude getting snapped back to reality. Personally, I thought after the KO Conor would trilogy Diaz and spend life living comfortably with Dee and Conor II but he really sounds like he wants to dig in and try and make a serious run again

Sounds like it was an eventful enough card. At $70 they better be lol. Guessing it’s Poirier vs. either Chandler or Oliveira for the title next as it doesn’t really seem like Khabib is coming back.

She's an unlikable charisma vacuum that can't draw. When you lose 90% of your division's popularity you shouldn't be rewarded.

Nunes is one of Dana's biggest pets. She's goes years without defending her belt, is allowed to gallivant around in a non-division and keeps getting multiple headliners and high-profile co-mains even though fans HATE her.

Conor has been coasting on shit he did years ago for a fair few years now, no one should be surprised that Poirier whipped his ass. He’ll hang around and get some main events for a while longer but his days as a huge draw are done. Khabib strangled him, he beat Cerrone which was a JTTs showcase fight more than anything, and now Poirier lado him down.
Dana is a POS though so he’ll keep presenting him as a top fighter for a while longer.

This is gonna make me sound like an ass but I was a UFC fan forever and now I'm just..not. I actually think alot of the fighters are better but they're just boring. The entertainment value isn't there. To me the only guys left who feel like stars are Mcgregor and Jones. It's just not doing it for me anymore, it's like generic dude with bad tattoos #3 will take on generic dude #8. Couldn’t agree more. They haven’t created a new superstar in years. For years there were so many exciting fighters who came across like legitimate superstars: Michael Bisping, Daniel Cormier, Randy Couture, Nick and Nate Diaz, Matt Hughes, Rampage Jackson, Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, Chuck Liddell, Conor McGregor, Tito Ortiz, B.J. Penn, Ronda Rousey, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre... Everyone today is so generic and forgettable to me; nobody stands out or comes across like a superstar.

When it was lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavy weight, and heavyweight, it was easier to follow stars and actually remember who was champ.

Complete cap, what fans hate her? She fought twice in 2018 and twice in 2019. She only fought once last year for obvious reasons with the pandemic and she said she was going to take time off since her and Nina were having a baby
